Dragging herself among hundreds of bodies, Morgana collapsed onto the blood-soaked ground. Dark marks made her skin peel like burned flesh. She lifted her face, her eyes shining with a purple electric discharge.
Rito was no longer there. She had heard his voice ordering his people to run to the Libretãnhya bunker, because the cruel Prime Minister was ready to kill everyone. Morgana knelt on the ground, supporting her fist against the asphalt. She called him a coward, saying he would never be able to hurt an innocent people, like he had done.
She looked back. Demons trampled the trees, those that flew surrounded the city.
The news echoed from the city's huge screens. The stability of the Inferius portals was being lost. At some point, more demons began to appear than it would be possible to count.
The information traveled thousands of kilometers. The people of IceStorm begged for the queen to speak. Carolina, emerging from the highest top of the castle, with bands covering part of her body, declared that the peoples should go to the restricted area of the kingdom. Gather food and technology and work there until everything calmed down.
They ran to the area guided by her fingers. They destroyed the entrance with numerous weapons and discovered the great space.
Sitting in a chair, Carolina supported her hand on her face, closing her eyes tightly. The man, Carlos, positioning his hands on her shoulders, calmed her. Definitely, all Official Countries would put their population in their bunkers. And now, all that remained was for them to protect the kingdom. Carolina, squeezing his hand, said she felt not only fear of this, it was something beyond. Of how she had not died and, by little, her country had almost been a victim of Rito.
Aurora, as she said, always seemed to be a cause of salvation and destruction at the same time. He agreed, however, also observed that their bodies had not been affected by the explosion that occurred in the secret base, so in a way she had saved them from the death she herself had almost caused. Thus, sitting next to her, placing his hand over hers, he asked what would be the fate of both of them and of Gyne.
The queen knew that against Rito, only the Prime Minister would not be enough. Carlos warned her that it was too dangerous. She acknowledged it, but they had already been through so much: the dictatorship of Fraizen Rosenmary and all those ten years apart. They were together again, perhaps it was by luck or destiny, but she did not want to waste the opportunity to unite their forces.
Carlos held the woman's hand. He looked at the room. And what about Gyne? Carolina lowered her gaze, he was right. He did not want to involve him, much less leave him alone.
Possibly, there was another strategy.
In the city of eternal rain, the population discussed the announcement. Had the Prime Minister abandoned them? They denied that this was the truth. However, even considering the idea, they ran to a certain building.
But at the same time, it collapsed.
Pieces flew through the sky, a trail rose to the clouds. The fallen people coughed with the smoke but continued forward. The local artificial intelligence, observing them with eyes hidden by walls, analyzed the behavior patterns and the agitation. Conclusion: it was time to accommodate an entire nation.
The white space soon opened at a distance invisible to human eyes. Each step hit the puddles on the streets that formed with the appearance of the rain. Mothers protected their children to their chests, men placed their arms over their wives and children. And young people hid in corners, hiding their faces in their arms.
In a short time, the city, previously full, previously so bright amid the darkness, became empty. With clouds forming over the region, the sun disappearing little by little.
Until all the light was absorbed.
In Libretãnhya, if before there were bodies, now they were mountains. Dragons that were born from hell, spreading their wings, were now fallen.
For an instant, there was silence.
Until, in the background, something emerged.
The structures of entire buildings collapsed in a wave of smoke. Morgana observed from the ground, lying down. The skin was carbonized, the layer breaking apart like coal being burned.
The thing that emerged in the background was larger than any construction she had ever known. If one day it was told of a machine, located in Ice Storm that could control other machines, larger than an entire kingdom, she felt that the worst secrets were not revealed in mere books and sites.
A mechanical eagle raised its thousands of feathers, four wings swinging slowly, but which made Morgana be thrown far away. When she raised her gaze, through the transparent eyes, the woman could see him observing from his wheelchair.
Rito.
The four wings opened. Morgana closed her eyes, whispering, in forgiveness, for not having been enough.
The wings beat. And the wind formed like a storm towards her.
But a sharp cut dispersed it through the air.
When she opened them again, a woman stood before her. She looked back and nodded. Beside her, a man rested, with Renkata glove prosthetics and ice fitting into his hand. He commented on how much he missed being at his old peak.
And, in the man's arm, the boy, Gyne, who looked at the Prime Minister with furrowed eyebrows. Asking what he should do in that situation. Carolina, clearing her throat, commanded him to protect Morgana, only.
And, in a few moments, the Prime Minister felt her body being lifted in the boy's arms, who, with a kick on the ground, formed an ice floor, the steps sliding rapidly towards the most distant horizon. The eagle roared and a red and dark energy formed in its beak. Carolina firmly gripped the spear, and Carlos adjusted, for the last time, his gloves.
However, when the energy was fired, it was not towards the queen and the general.
But yes, towards the boy.
Carolina turned, screaming Gyne's name. Carlos tried to run, but the brightness made them cover their faces and the speed surpassed the blink of an eye.
But, in the same second, something completely dark hit the energy, consuming it until reaching the origin, exploding the face of the robotic creature.
When they looked at the sky, the figure floated without the need for any source of elevation. From the palm of the right hand, a dark cube formed. And she declared:
This time...
She would not make the mistake of letting Rito escape again.
However...
When looking at Carolina and Carlos, and her head turning three hundred and sixty degrees and facing Morgana and Gyne with the white pupil retracting under the dark iris, she reminded them that the farewell was late, and that death, perhaps, was inevitable.
When turning to the machine whose vision analyzed, concluding: five kilometers, she also added.
If the death of those present was a possibility. There was something destined:
The fall of the most powerful man of all.
