A few minutes earlier…
The frost numbed his entire body. Unlike the last time he was caged, he could barely move in this freezing space. However, he didn't try to break out. He was too tired. All his eyes did was slowly flicker. A sigh would come if he could take a deep breath.
"…I can't feel the flowers anymore… Did they stop blooming?" His voice didn't even echo in the darkness.
"Not really. They just died," an old man's voice answered him.
There should be no one in this cramped space with him, but there was another voice. The original speaker only chuckled. "I see. Have I died then? They kept me from falling. No matter how painful or numb I felt, they kept me from sleeping for eternity. Perhaps the only silver lining is that I meet him… I look forward to seeing him again…"
The old man's voice hummed. "It won't be long. She has already ascertained his intentions. You are lucky. His songs are the most entertaining…"
"I don't know what that means…"
