Courtney frowned, sitting among the junior Epsilons and Eugene. She huffed softly. "Why doesn't he sound sad? His songs never sounded like this when he was crying for Len before."
"Yeah…" Eugene frowned more deeply. He glanced at the spot where the pack's upper echelon sat. "Claude… said he's asking for a miracle."
"From the Moon Goddess?" Courtney looked up at the bright moon. "If tonight were a blood moon, it might even sound plausible. But… what is there to ask for? For Her to erase the infection?"
Eugene glanced at the shining moon. "Or something bolder."
Under the moon, Claude performed with his heart, as he did every time for a Full Moon. He would even look up at the moon as if asking the goddess for a sign. Yes, he wondered if she spoke to him that time. He wondered if she meant the guarantees she gave him.
"…will you really… heal everyone? Can I really… save Len from his curse?"
