After a long flight, Lucy's head was groggy and her body wasn't doing well either. She felt awful; even a hot shower didn't help, it only made her sleepier. She didn't have Emily's kind of energy.
Emily watched her expectantly, egging her on to go to a bar, with a charming Eastern European hottie to keep them company. It was obvious that if she refused, the blonde girl would be very disappointed.
She really didn't want to go, but she also didn't want to let Emily down.
"I'm not feeling very well right now. How about we rest for a bit and then go?" Lucy suggested a compromise. Even though she'd promised her family she wouldn't go to those kinds of chaotic places, she couldn't resist her best friend's pleading and compromised, on one condition: she needed a moment to recover.
But Emily refused to compromise; her "bar-going DNA" was firing now, and there was no stopping her.
