Brandan lowered his head and looked at her delicate features. He reached out his hand, gently pinching her exquisite chin, turning her face towards him, and gazed at her intently.
"Do you mind?" he asked.
"I do," Iris Harris replied honestly, "But there's no use in minding. It's like...if our roles were reversed, and I experienced something like this, you would mind too. But you wouldn't blame me, right?"
Brandan's breath hitched slightly. He looked at her deeply, then stretched out his arms, hugging Iris's frail body tightly. He whispered, "No, I wouldn't. I would just feel sorry for you."
Iris rested her chin on his solid shoulder and chuckled softly, "Yes, I feel sorry too. My feelings are the same as yours..." She pushed him away, raised her head to look at Brandan's face, her expression gentle with a subtle smile, "I won't punish you for someone else's mistake, as long as you don't cheat, I can forgive you."
