Sophie Smith walked up to Asher Land, reached out to open the car door, and sat inside.
"I didn't tell you, why did you come over?"
"If I don't come over, how are you going to get home?" Asher Land replied casually as he started the car.
"How long have you been waiting here?"
"Since five in the afternoon."
He's been waiting for so long?
He didn't call her because he knew she must be in class and wouldn't have the time, so he decided to just wait it out.
"Aren't you afraid I'd find another way home and you'd be waiting here for nothing?"
"Besides asking me to pick you up, who else would you ask?"
Sophie Smith was inexplicably touched by his words, indeed, no matter the situation, the first person she subconsciously thought of to rely on and seek help from was him.
Sophie Smith changed the subject and started telling Asher Land about recent happenings at school.
She recounted joyfully, as if she had returned to her youthful campus days from years ago.
