She reaches a ruined throne deep in the forest that used to belong to the hollow king, ancient ruler who once sealed the Tanglewood's with his life. She saw visions of his fall-betrayal, fear, and a darkness that promised salvation but delivered ruin instead. A whisper echoed through the stone. As she hears the hollow king: The same darkness watches you now. "Hollow king, I hope you find peace and happiness." As she leaves a gift on the throne for him.
The trees began to talk-only in riddles only at dusk. Lucky listens closely and realizes they are trying to tell her something: The source of the corruption lies beneath. Beneath the roots, beneath the truth. Lucky pulls out her map and marks where the whispering grew loudest.
Before she enters, Lucky's magic bursts unexpectedly while she's defending a grove of dreamflowers. Her wings flared with light and fire, temporarily transforming her into a blazing comet. Afterwards, she collapsed-exhausted, trembling and scared of what she'd done. "Power isn't always a gift, it's sometimes a question." As she murmured to herself.
It becomes night and Lucky starts a campfire and falls asleep. She's dreaming of Queen Lumina-bound in the shadowroots, calling her name. "she's trapped," Lucky whispered when she awoke. "The corruption didn't just invade the forest… it's reaching the heart of luminaria." The stakes have changed. It's no longer about saving the glade it was about saving everything and everyone.
Lucky looked at her map as it guided the way and the whispering trees. Lucky found the Gnarled ancient tree whose roots dug deep into the earth's magic. It's 30 feet tall and 50 feet around. The bark looks old and new at the same time. As Lucky touches the bark, she sees a memory-not her own. A vision of the forest before it was cursed, thriving with magic and song. Then came a tear in the sky, shadows pouring out from the tear.
It wasn't a curse, it was an invasion. Soon it will happen again but this time it's not Queen Lumina… The vision stops and all Lucky can feel is sadness and tears running down her face. "Why…. Why…. We were all told it was a curse and we were lied to too. I need to keep going and push on no matter what."
