Chapter 3 - The Map of Forgotten Path

Deeper in the Tanglewood, Lucky discovers a hollow log that shimmered with stardust. She looks inside the log and sees a faded map inked in glowing silver-marked with symbols. That she recognized from her dreams, when a falling star with silver and golden rays of light. Silva is a moth with white and gold wings, fluttered beside her, "What a minute that map, it's not just a map it's a guiding map but it never reacted like that before." "Well, it reacts whenever I touch it." As Lucky touches the map it shows a Sliver line. As Lucky starts heading deeper, the map reacts and shows her where to go, but she doesn't see it, because she has it tucked away close to her heart.

Thorn snapped like the jaws of a Gargantuan creature, its body made of twisted vines and bark, blocked her path. Its eyes were hollow voids, and it growled with ancient hunger. Lucky trembled, but instead of fighting, she spoke gently, "You're hurting, why?" The beast froze in place and reared back and started thinking to itself. The darkness in its eyes flickered with a little white light in its eyes. Lucky reaches out her hand to its face and casts a lightspell to increase the light in its eyes. It was cast with kindness the beast howled and fled into the vines unrevealing.

"I didn't win by strength," Lucky whispered, "I won by kindness and the Heart." Further along the map's path, Lucky came upon a lonely stone cottage, half-swallowed up by moss. Inside lived a Witchlings named Marla. She is not much taller than Lucky, but full of secrets. "I know what you are," Marla said in a neutral tone.

"A Starborn, one foot in fate, the other in chaos." Marla offers her a gift: a locket. "That could reveal the truth, but the truth will hurt." "I don't want it to hurt." Lucky said in a depressed tone. Marla smiled sadly, "It usually does but it also frees."
