Kayla narrowed her eyes and walked towards Zoey to kiss her. "I'm sorry, Mommy. I only did that because I was afraid that you'd shoo the man away. I really didn't do it on purpose."
Zoey gave her a hug, pinched her little nose, and giggled.
"Kayla, this is the first time you're mad at me because of a stranger. I shouldn't underestimate him then," she said.
Kayla may appear naive, but she was extremely intelligent. Unless that person was exceptionally skilled at sweet-talking, it would be difficult to deceive her.
"Mommy, he's very skilled! The most important thing is-" Kayla paused, blushing slightly. "He's even more charming than Estelle."
