Kayla shook her head happily and replied, "I don't care. All I know is that the soup is good today."
"Fine, fine. Whatever you say," Zoey replied.
Seeing that, Kayla decided to try her luck. Clasping Zoey's arm, she pleaded, "Mommy, can you cook me clam chowder soup tomorrow? I want to eat that."
"Sure." Upon hearing her response, Kayla was floating on air.
At that moment, she finally noticed Shawn's absence. "Mommy, where is Uncle Shawn?"
Zoey glanced at Yvonne instinctively and saw her eyes instantly turn gloomy at Kayla's question.
"Uncle Shawn's back in the army. But he was here to see you before he left."
Kayla's mouth was agape at the unexpected news. "Huh? Uncle Shawn went back to the army already?" In the next second, she said remorsefully, "But, I haven't given him the lucky charm that I made for him."
It was such a pity as she had spent many days to complete the lucky charm. Her right thumb was still hurting from all the crafting.
