"Are you still going to leave?"
Before Alan could reply, Kayla continued in a soft voice, "Will I wake up tomorrow and find out that you've gone to the forest to forage for herbs?"
In fact, she knew clearly that Alan liked to forage for herbs the most. According to him, medicines made from herbs could help save lives and improve well-being.
Upon hearing her question, Alan smiled. "No, I won't leave for the time being, not before your mom and dad's wedding ceremony."
Even though Kayla was slightly disappointed to know that he would eventually leave afterward, she was still glad that he could stay.
"You're so old already. Why do you still travel around nonstop?" Kayla asked out of curiosity.
Alan patted her on her head and replied, "I'm the same as you. I have too much energy, so I can't stay put in one location. Would you and Kayden take care of me when I can no longer walk?"
