Zoey pinched her cheeks and said, "Kayla, do you still remember what I told you before?"
"Yes. You said that I shouldn't be calling others names and that I must always be polite."
Kayla then pursed her lips and corrected herself. "Mommy, did Aunt Jeanette bully you?"
Even though Kayla did not like calling Jeanette her aunt, she corrected herself anyway because she was an obedient child that listens to her mother.
Zoey smiled and answered, "No. Ms. Miller's a reasonable person. She will listen as long as we talk nicely."
Kayla pursed her lips again when she heard her mother's words. Clearly, she did not believe her.
But Zoey did not explain any further.
Darcy could feel her heart racing as she looked over at them quietly.
"Ms. Chappelle. Ms. Chappelle?" Zoey suddenly called out to her when she was caught in her own thoughts.
