Chapter 552: Isn't Far From Exploding

"A crossover? You're really treating this world like it's just a game? As its creator, you should understand—something like that appearing could push the entire world into crisis."

Steven narrowed his eyes. If this world truly were just a game, then what Hypergryph said might make sense. But to him, this place felt far too real.

In the Minecraft world, the monsters and entities that simply repeated preset lines could still be treated like game mechanics. But here, every individual had their own thoughts, their own stories. Steven simply couldn't see them as NPCs.

That was why—even though he approached events with a gamer's mindset—he still treated the inhabitants of this world with equal respect.

After all, beings with independent thought were fundamentally different from scripted NPCs.

"And what of it? I seek things that bring me amusement. Novelty. You, the one you call Zorah Magdaros—both are variables. This world might matter to you, but to me, it's merely one iteration among countless repetitions."

Hypergryph's tone remained emotionless. To her, these elements were simply fresh developments in an endlessly repeating world. She saw nothing wrong with it.

Steven quietly studied the being before him. In that regard, she reminded him of the Chaos Servers Administrators—beings who added bizarre bugs into their worlds for entertainment, even if it meant breaking them entirely.

Of course, Steven himself wasn't qualified to criticize. He was, after all, a chaos-loving spectator. If he swapped places with Hypergryph, he wouldn't see anything wrong either.

In fact, if it were him, he wouldn't stop at adding a single Zorah Magdaros. He'd probably import the entire Monster Hunter world without hesitation.

"So let me guess… this thing was added by you? And if I'm being more paranoid—was it specifically prepared for me?"

Steven smiled. Adding mods to a world was something he'd seen plenty of times, and his own experiences made that conclusion hard to avoid.

"Unfortunately, you're the later variable."

"Your arrival is what drew my attention here. From the moment you descended into this world, I could no longer observe its future. That is something I've never seen before… and exactly the kind of unpredictable stage I've been waiting for."

She revealed this world-level secret without hesitation. For the first time, a trace of anticipation colored her otherwise indifferent voice.

"I look forward to seeing what this world becomes. So your speculation isn't impossible. Sometimes I wonder—what kind of story would unfold if all these 'variables' were gathered into a single world?"

Hypergryph gazed at the boy before her with hollow eyes, practically telling Steven outright that she would deliberately target him later. The unknown was what she craved most right now. For that, even using a bit of her authority was worth it.

"I'd advise you not to do that. You're clearly playing with fire. Someone tried that with me before… and, well, let's just say they are banned."

Steven grinned. His expression didn't look like a warning at all. If anything, it was obvious he was also looking forward to whatever might happen next.

He had already realized that, at least when it came to chasing amusement, he and Hypergryph were the same kind of person. Who could resist adding a bit of spice to an unpredictable future?

Faced with his warning, Hypergryph simply shook her head. The world instantly regained its colors, and the figure that had been standing before him vanished without a trace.

Alone in the alley once more, the black-haired boy scratched his head. He had said what he needed to say. Whether she listened was her problem. If something really did happen later, he wouldn't feel bad about it.

"But it really is Zorah Magdaros… So is this like an Arch-Tempered Zorah Magdaros siege? Or should I just turn it into a world quest and let the locals deal with it?"

Rubbing his temples, Steven still had no good way to handle something that massive. Without seeing it firsthand, making a judgment was difficult.

Still, now that he understood the origin of the monster, he no longer needed to worry about something fundamentally wrong with the world. The next step was simple.

—Just imagining Kal'tsit's expression when she heard this made his face fill with anticipation.

"Guess that's one thing I share with her… I really don't have the moral high ground after saying all that about pursuing fun at any cost."

Chuckling at himself, Steven activated the Warp Stone in his inventory. In the blink of an eye, he appeared inside Kal'tsit's office.

The green-haired feline, buried in Rhodes Island paperwork, looked up. When she saw the familiar figure, her already furrowed brows tightened further.

"Didn't you contact me earlier? I already told you—I'm not interested in that intel. It's not something Rhodes Island can get involved in right now." She reminded him coldly. Assuming he'd come to confirm the same information again.

"No, no. Can't I just drop by to catch up? Trust me—you'll thank me after you hear this."

Steven shook his head. Her previous decision to avoid the matter had been wise—but given the current situation, she might soon regret it deeply.

"What is it?"

Kal'tsit went straight to the point.

"Well, it's about that intel you didn't want to hear. I know you don't want to drag Rhodes Island into it, but now it's something the entire Terra continent has to face… actually, scratch that—it's something everyone in this world has to face."

Steven shrugged, then casually delivered his conclusion.

"To sum it up… I've discovered that this lousy world isn't far from exploding."
