Chapter 434: Feeling the Threat
Whis was carrying Beerus, flying through the universe at top speed.
While eating from a bento box, Beerus asked, "Are we not at Earth yet, Whis?"
"It'll still take a little while, Lord Beerus."
"This bento tastes terrible."
Beerus set the box aside carelessly, tilting his head as he muttered to himself, "I guess since my worries aren't resolved, nothing tastes good no matter what I eat."
"The so-called Super Saiyan God doesn't actually exist, so there's no need for you to be so concerned, Lord Beerus. After all, you are the God of Destruction. However…"
"What is it, Whis?"
Sensing the hint of change in Whis's tone, Beerus turned his head curiously.
"Well… Lord Beerus, that man named Uchiha Dali—his energy is quite unique."
"How so?"
Beerus grew even more intrigued.
"I just checked, and it turns out he's also a god."
"A god, huh? That sounds a bit interesting…"
"Yes, Lord Beerus. He's the highest deity from a lower dimension. If I had to compare, his rank there would be equal to yours here."
At those words, Beerus narrowed his eyes. "A god from a lower dimension who ascended up here? That's extremely rare. It's been a long time since someone like that appeared, hasn't it, Whis?"
"Yes, Lord Beerus. Ever since the Grand Zeno divided the dimensions into the upper and lower realms, it's been over a hundred million years since any lower-dimensional god managed to reach this one. That's why I said Uchiha Dali is quite special."
Using the sharp claw of his pinky, Beerus idly picked at his teeth and said lazily, "So what's this Uchiha Dali doing in our dimension?"
"I'm not sure yet. Perhaps he's simply exploring."
Whis replied casually.
Beerus squinted again. "Whis, you just said he's on the same level as me."
Hearing that tone, Whis instantly realized what Beerus was really getting at.
With a smile, he said, "Lord Beerus, if you are this universe's God of Destruction, then Uchiha Dali is the Multiversal God of Destruction of the lower dimension."
"Considering the relationship between the higher and lower dimensions, saying that he's on equal footing with you isn't inaccurate."
"But Whis, the Supreme Kai is technically on my level too. What makes this Uchiha Dali so special?"
Whis knew perfectly well that Beerus was circling around to learn more about Uchiha Dali's strength.
He sighed helplessly. "Lord Beerus, that part I really don't know. But judging from the fact that he was able to break through the dimensional barrier to reach here, I'd say his power is at least not below yours."
"Oh? Really?"
Beerus immediately felt threatened.
In this universe, he would never allow any being to stand above the God of Destruction. The God of Destruction was absolute.
But Whis nodded seriously, which instantly ignited Beerus's fighting spirit.
"Hearing that just makes me even more eager to meet this Uchiha Dali."
"I wonder who's stronger—him, or the Super Saiyan God."
All signs of tension vanished from Beerus's face, replaced by a dreamy, expectant expression as he rested his chin on one hand.
"There's something I've wanted to say for a while now, Whis."
"What is it, Lord Beerus?"
"Can you go any faster?"
"This is already the fastest speed in the universe."
"Really?"
At that, Beerus slumped down again, looking utterly bored.
...
Everyone was watching Uchiha Dali, confused about why he had suddenly stopped fighting and instead looked up at the sky.
In response to Goku's question, Uchiha Dali smiled faintly. "Two powerful beings are on their way here. No—make that very powerful beings."
"Oh? Really powerful ones?"
Goku instantly lit up with excitement, while Vegeta and the others grew tense.
Piccolo instinctively asked, "Those two powerful guys—how do they compare to you?"
"Hard to say," Uchiha Dali replied humbly with a small smile.
That answer only deepened their unease.
They had all witnessed Uchiha Dali's power firsthand.
His strength was beyond doubt—one move to defeat Vegeta, and even Super Saiyan 3 Goku couldn't stand against him.
Clearly, he far surpassed both of them.
Yet now this mysterious, overwhelmingly strong man was saying that two beings just as powerful as him were approaching. Who wouldn't be nervous?
Piccolo instinctively extended his senses to try detecting the incoming energy.
But he couldn't sense anything at all.
Vegeta did the same.
After a while, he snorted coldly. "Are you joking with us? There's no such energy anywhere!"
Uchiha Dali gave him an amused look. "Just because you can't sense it doesn't mean it doesn't exist."
"Fine then, try sensing my energy again."
As soon as he finished speaking, he completely suppressed his aura.
For a god, this was nothing difficult.
Sure enough, in the next moment, everyone's expressions changed slightly.
Because they could no longer feel any trace of Uchiha Dali's presence at all.
He was standing right before them, yet it felt as if his energy had vanished completely.
As the others stared wide-eyed at him, Uchiha Dali smiled faintly but offered no explanation.
"Now you understand, don't you?"
"Your ability to sense energy isn't always reliable."
"Amazing!"
"You can perfectly hide your power!" Goku exclaimed in awe.
But then, he noticed that Uchiha Dali's smile was slowly fading.
The others looked on curiously, unaware that Uchiha Dali's Observation Haki had just shown him a glimpse of the future.
In that vision, the Grand Priest appeared before him, summoning him to meet the Grand Zeno.
The reason: as a deity who had ascended from the lower dimension, he needed to receive the Grand Zeno's formal appointment.
As for what position that appointment would be, the vision hadn't revealed it.
The scene vanished, and Uchiha Dali came back to himself.
"So, the Grand Zeno wants to see me, huh?"
"Maybe he intends to appoint me as a god in this universe—or perhaps in another. But what kind of god would that be? This is the Seventh Universe, and both the God of Destruction and the Supreme Kai positions are already filled."
"Surely he's not planning to make me a mere Kai?"
He was still lost in thought when the two immense auras finally entered the Milky Way's domain.
