Chapter 431: Truly Defeated in a Single Move
Because of what Uchiha Dali said, Vegeta felt utterly humiliated.
He was the proud Prince of all Saiyans, yet someone had dared to look down on him like that.
Now he had to redeem himself—and he was going to do it in the coolest, most dignified way possible.
Nothing was more impressive than standing still and letting your opponent attack freely, without lifting a finger in return. If he so much as moved a single finger—or even blew a breath to counterattack—it would be an insult to himself.
Now it was Uchiha Dali's turn to feel a bit exasperated.
Goku, as usual, was as simple-minded as ever. Hearing Vegeta's words, he immediately widened his eyes in astonishment.
"Vegeta?? When did you become this strong? Are you serious?"
"Don't tell me you've been secretly training behind my back! Looks like I've really fallen behind again…"
Hearing that, Vegeta's face twitched uncontrollably—it was pure mockery to his ears.
But remembering that these words came from the ever-thickheaded Goku, his anger subsided somewhat.
That idiot was always like this—never thinking straight and constantly making wild assumptions.
"Why haven't you attacked yet?"
After waiting a long time and seeing no move from Uchiha Dali, Vegeta finally opened his eyes and asked.
"I just wanted to confirm if you were being serious about what you said just now," Uchiha Dali replied with a faintly amused smile.
"Nonsense! Do I look like I'm joking with you?"
Vegeta's temper flared again.
"Hmm, you don't seem like you're joking," Dali said mildly.
"But you'd better use your full power to fight me—otherwise, you'll lose badly."
He was being kind enough to offer advice.
But those words only enraged Vegeta even more.
Clenching his fists tightly, he erupted with a massive surge of energy, instantly transforming into a Super Saiyan.
Power rippled outward from his body, expanding in all directions.
The intense pressure made it difficult for everyone nearby to breathe.
Yamcha gasped, "Vegeta's gotten even stronger… the gap between us and him just keeps growing."
"But he's still not at that guy's level," Tien replied calmly.
Yamcha nodded—he was right. Even though Vegeta had transformed into a Super Saiyan, the energy radiating from him was still far weaker than Uchiha Dali's.
Anyone capable of sensing ki would have come to the same conclusion.
Ignoring Yamcha and the others, Vegeta pointed a finger at Dali.
"Come on!"
"Let me see what makes you so confident that you can defeat me in one move!"
Seeing how stubborn he was, Uchiha Dali could only shake his head helplessly.
"You asked for it—so don't blame me for what happens next."
Goku stood to the side, eyes full of excitement, cheering Vegeta on.
"Vegeta, go for it! Give it your all!"
But just as his words fell, Vegeta suddenly stiffened, his eyes widening in shock as he stared straight ahead.
His body curled forward like a shrimp.
That familiar posture was instantly recognizable to everyone present—it could only mean one thing: Vegeta had been struck.
And struck hard.
In that single instant, he had completely lost the ability to fight.
Sure enough, the next second, the golden aura surrounding him vanished as he reverted to his normal state.
His suspended body dropped to the ground.
Bang!
Vegeta crashed down heavily, frozen in that rigid position, motionless—his life or death uncertain.
Everyone was left dumbstruck.
"W-What… what just happened?!"
Yamcha's whole body broke out in goosebumps; his breathing grew ragged as he stared at the motionless Vegeta, eyes wide and mouth still agape.
"What in the world happened…"
Tien was equally bewildered.
Chiaotzu was completely confused, having no idea what had just taken place.
Only Piccolo and Goku barely managed to catch a glimpse of something.
Piccolo was trembling all over, his eyes flickering rapidly.
"Such incredible speed! Such terrifying power!!"
"He actually… really took Vegeta out in a single move!"
"Who is this guy?!"
Piccolo couldn't believe what he'd just witnessed—but the evidence was right there.
He couldn't move a muscle.
This man's strength had gone far beyond imagination.
"Amazing!"
Goku finally came back to his senses, staring at Uchiha Dali in astonishment.
Unlike the others, he was more at ease—he could still sense Vegeta's ki. That meant Vegeta was only unconscious, not dead.
Clearly, Uchiha Dali had held back.
Otherwise, Vegeta's fate would have been sealed.
Realizing that Dali wasn't hostile, Goku grew even more excited than before.
With a sudden boom, golden energy flared up as he transformed into a Super Saiyan.
Eyes gleaming with anticipation, Goku grinned at Uchiha Dali.
"You're the strongest opponent I've ever met! Fight me next!"
Hearing his challenge, Uchiha Dali turned his head with clear amusement.
"Your energy is stronger than his, but not by much. If that's all you've got, you'll be defeated just as quickly."
Again, it was a kind warning.
Goku nodded eagerly. "Yeah, I get it! Then I'll show you an even stronger power!"
...
At that very moment, while Uchiha Dali was sparring with Earth's greatest warriors, in the Realm of the Kai…
The Old Supreme Kai paced anxiously, hands clasped behind his back, explaining the matter of the God of Destruction Beerus to his junior, the young East Supreme Kai, Kibito.
As they talked, the Old Supreme Kai said worriedly, "Let's hope no fool tries to challenge Lord Beerus."
"No one could be that stupid, right?" the East Supreme Kai replied instinctively.
But then his eyes widened. "Wait—what about Son Goku…?"
"Exactly! That's the one I'm worried about!" the Old Supreme Kai said immediately. "That guy's so battle-hungry—we mustn't let him learn of Lord Beerus's existence!"
The East Supreme Kai quickly relaxed, smiling. "There's no need to worry, Elder. After all, only gods can sense Lord Beerus's presence. And since Son Goku's all the way out on Earth, the chances of them ever meeting are practically zero."
"Let's hope you're right," the Old Supreme Kai muttered, still uneasy.
He knew all too well what would happen if the God of Destruction were provoked.
After all, seventy-five million years ago, he himself had been sealed away by Beerus for over seventy-five million years—just for saying the wrong thing.
That man possessed the absolute power to destroy an entire universe.
