I turned on the tap and washed my hands under the running water, rinsing away the last bits of food. Aeri stood beside me at the kitchen counter, carefully placing the clean plates on the drying rack. The afternoon sunlight streamed through the kitchen window, making the room feel bright and peaceful after the busy morning.
"So, what should we do now?" I asked, wiping my hands on the small towel hanging on the refrigerator door.
"Yeah, that's a good question," Aeri replied, tapping her finger on her lips while thinking. She looked cute when she was deep in thought, her head slightly tilted.
"Should we go somewhere out?" I suggested casually, leaning back against the kitchen counter and watching her.
"Hmm, we can," she said, smiling and nodding. "I mean, you don't have work today and I'm mostly free too. After being stuck in the hospital for days, I think it would be nice to go out for a bit."
