Chapter 360 - Chapter 360: Psychic Town

On the other side, after leaving the forest, Silas had no idea that a Teddiursa had just had its entire life trajectory thrown off course by him.

At the moment, he was still happily basking in the joy of his harvest.

Teddiursa's honey could be used to craft quite a few items, especially Pokémon Poffins and desserts.

Later on, when preparing snacks for Serperior and Togekiss, adding just a little of it would dramatically enhance the flavor.

In addition, Ice Vulpix in its juvenile stage could also eat a small amount.

Honey made by Teddiursa using Berries as raw ingredients was extremely mild and very suitable for young Pokémon.

Silas generally didn't sell this kind of harvest—after all, he needed it himself, and demand far exceeded supply.

Following the path forward, he soon saw a massive lake.

"It really is beautiful…"

Silas stood at a higher vantage point, gazing out as he couldn't help but sigh.

Especially after barely escaping an Ursaring pursuit, the scenery before him was undeniably soothing to the mind.

Under the midday sunlight, ripples of golden light shimmered across the lake's surface.

The pristine water quality allowed Pokémon such as Magikarp and Goldeen to leap out, splashing waves into the air.

There were even anglers fishing along the lakeshore.

This was probably what true comfort looked like.

"Ralts."

Silas called out softly.

A red flash passed, and the well-behaved Ralts appeared on his shoulder.

"Ral?"

It let out a puzzled sound.

Was there something he needed it for?

Silas smiled and gently patted its head.

Mainly because the town ahead was rather special.

The lake before him was called Tai Lake, located behind Psychic Town in the Johto region.

Psychic Town[Len Town], true to its name had residents who each kept one or more Psychic-type Pokémon by their side.

Strange, wasn't it?

Psychic Pokémon, rarely seen elsewhere, were practically household necessities here.

But this was a necessity born of circumstance.

Many Ghost-type Pokémon lived near Psychic Town.

In the past, every resident lived with the fear that one day they might never wake up after falling asleep.

Only Psychic-type Pokémon gave them a sense of security.

Although over time the nearby Ghost Pokémon no longer posed serious harm to humans, their mischievous nature hadn't changed much.

Psychic Pokémon were mainly raised to prevent prank-loving Pokémon like Haunter from causing trouble.

Of course, due to the unique nature of Psychic Pokémon, the town's residents were generally skilled Trainers.

With generations of accumulation, Psychic Town had produced many powerful Trainers well-known within the League.

Every year, one or even several residents of Psychic Town would rank highly in regional tournaments.

As a result, the town was fairly famous.

It also had several unusual entry requirements.

For example, visiting Trainers had to own at least one Pokémon capable of using Psychic-type moves.

This was for safety reasons.

The residents couldn't protect outsiders at all times.

To guard against sudden Ghost-type attacks, visitors needed a certain level of self-defense.

Another rule was never to disrespect fortune-telling.

This was similar to how Azalea Town forbade disrespect toward Slowpoke.

Perhaps due to long-term contact with Psychic Pokémon, the residents had become somewhat mystical themselves.

They were deeply devoted to divination.

Most fortune-tellers in the Pokémon world had close ties to this place, either as residents, descendants, or former students.

If you stood in Psychic Town and shouted, "I hate fortune-telling," you would most likely be escorted out.

You didn't have to believe in it, but you couldn't disrespect it.

Silas didn't have particularly strong feelings about divination.

In the Pokémon world, it was hard to say whether fortune-telling truly worked or not.

Additionally, Psychic Town was also a frequent destination for Ghost-type Pokémon enthusiasts.

However, very few succeeded in capturing one.

Due to lifespan reasons, many Ghost Pokémon had become close companions to the town's residents.

Rather than fighting Psychic Pokémon, they seemed to enjoy the interaction itself and naturally didn't want to leave.

Combined with the Ghost type's ability to come and go freely, capturing one here was extremely difficult.

"But with you around, little guy, I won't even think about it."

Silas said with a smile, gently stroking Ralts' smooth head.

Compared to Ghost Pokémon of all shapes and forms, he clearly preferred Psychic types.

With Ralts on his shoulder, he headed toward the opposite side of Tai Lake.

That was the entrance to Psychic Town.

"Hmm… that person following me isn't waiting here?"

Silas sensed carefully, feeling genuinely surprised.

After thinking it over, he quickly understood why.

Most likely, the stalker didn't have a Psychic-type Pokémon, nor a Pokémon capable of using Psychic-type moves.

This further confirmed the other party's identity as a member of Team Magma.

As the local power, Team Rocket would never overlook details like this.

Only members of Team Magma, operating far away in Hoenn would be unaware of Psychic Town's unique rules.

That realization made things more troublesome for Silas.

If he waited until reaching Goldenrod City to flush the person out, finding them again would be like searching for a needle in the ocean.

After some thought, Silas decided to drop the issue.

It wasn't anything urgent—sooner or later, the other party would reveal themselves.

Right now, they believed they were hidden in the shadows, unaware that Silas already knew of their presence.

With preparation on his side and ignorance on theirs, handling the situation wouldn't be difficult.

Silas nodded politely to the guards alongside Ralts, receiving no resistance as he entered Psychic Town.

"Abra. Girafarig. Drowzee. Hypno. Mr. Mime. Slowpoke."

As he walked through the streets, Silas lost count of how many Psychic-type Pokémon he saw.

The town truly lived up to its name.

Meanwhile, outside Psychic Town…

A blonde-haired woman and a green-haired man stood encouraging one another.

Beside them was a Rattata, its body covered in old scars.

"This is our first official mission," the green-haired man said solemnly.

"So we have to do it perfectly," the blonde woman replied.

Suddenly, a middle-aged man's voice echoed from the distance.

"Hey! Don't linger in the Ghost Forest for too long!"

"Well, since you've asked us so sincerely—"

the green-haired man extended an arm.

"Normally, we wouldn't answer—"the blonde woman flicked her hair.

"But we'll make an exception and tell you."

The two stepped forward together.

"Mr. Mime, use Confusion."

Before they could continue, the middle-aged man cut them off.

"Mimo~"

A Pokémon resembling a human, its fingers tipped with suction cups, let out a cheerful sound.

Purple psychic energy instantly enveloped the two humans and their Pokémon.

"Ra—!!"

Rattata screeched angrily.
