"There is something I want to discuss with Kael first."
Brandon placed his teacup on the table and reached toward her, catching her hand before she could move toward the armchair opposite them.
He gently pulled her closer, and Rheanne leaned down without resistance, allowing him to press a soft kiss against her lips.
"Welcome home," he murmured, brushing his thumb across the back of her hand. "You look a little tired. Was the meeting that troublesome?"
Rheanne let out a quiet sigh, and Brandon shifted slightly to make room for her while Scylla adjusted her position on his lap, drawing her legs a little closer so Rheanne could sit comfortably.
"It wasn't particularly exhausting," Rheanne replied as she settled beside him, smoothing the fabric of her dress over her knees.
"But something rather troublesome was decided."
"As I said earlier, a Higher Divinity is going to visit our cluster of worlds."
