Brandon finally managed to pull himself from Eira's latest round of questions.
He gave the still-muttering girl a light pat on the head, then quietly crossed the room toward Freya and Selene.
The two of them were standing near the wall, slightly removed from the main clusters of conversation.
Selene noticed him first and immediately stepped forward to hug him "Papa."
Hugging her back, he gently patted her head and looked at Freya.
Freya followed her daughter's gaze and arched a brow as he approached "Can't believe you were hiding a family like this from us for so long, my dear husband."
With a wry smile, he replied "I just... didn't know how to bring up that conversation
Freya crossed her arms " 'By the way, five hundred years from now I have another entire household, and some of them share blood with the children we raised' doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, does it?"
"Something like that," he chuckled.
