Elize sat back on the couch with a deep sigh, contemplating everything.
Charlotte stepped forward slowly, closing the short distance between herself and Brandon.
The others watched in silence as she lifted her hand and gently caressed his cheek, looking at his mature face.
Her thumb brushed lightly across his cheekbone "…You have grown even more handsome, Kael," she murmured.
A faint, almost wistful smile touched her lips. "Just as I imagined."
Brandon's expression softened in affection.
He lifted his hand, gently took hold of hers, and turned his face just enough to press a quiet kiss against her palm.
Charlotte's gaze melted at the gesture, "If only I had protected you properly... None of this would have happened"
Brandon slowly shook his head "No. It is what was supposed to happen, Charlotte."
"You were always supposed to lose me in that tower,"
"That moment... the storm, your hand missing mine, it was the hinge the entire loop turned on."
