"What do you want me to say?" Renoir replied. "I did what I had to do, since I thought that was the best thing to do at the moment. You can blame me, and you can hate me, but nothing will change the fact that I did what was in my best interests."
Melissa scoffed. "I know. You've always done that. Ever since you abandoned me in the hospital, and ever since we supposedly made up. I thought you were different, but you're still the same selfish bastard who doesn't deserve anything given to him."
She narrowed her eyes. "Does your wife know you treat the ones you love this way? Or should I tell her?"
Noticing how things were stepping into 'that' territory, Rael chimed in:
"Don't bring his wife into this. It's between you two."
Both of them gave Rael a side eye, then ignored him. Especially Renoir, who had an interesting thought.
"How about I repent? There are plenty of ways I can think of punishing myself, so just choose whichever one you'd like."
