Chapter 356 - Chapter 353 ~ The Descendant of the Sage of Six Paths

The pressure had not stopped. It came in rolling waves from where the two attacks had ground against each other.

However, Ryu has held onto his position.

He raised his hand more firmly after getting a power-up from unexpected [Chakra Mode] activating after gathering too much fox's chakra.

The [Rasengan] already in his palm, grinding away the oncoming pressure. Then three more formed around it—a smaller and lighter version [Planetary Rasengan].

Ryu looked up at the fox through the golden haze of his own light.

"I am descended of Sage of Six Paths and his brother too," Ryu declared, his voice cutting through the roar of the wind.

The black water rippled outward from his feet in neat, precise circles.

"I am the son of Riko and grandson of Tsuki Hamura and Ryu Senju!"

The four [Rasengan] in his hands tightened their orbit, shrieking with mechanical force.

"My name is Ryu Hamura."

The sealed space went deathly still.

"And I will not move an inch—for my little brother."

The three secondary spheres collapsed inward, hitting the primary [Rasengan]. They locked into its rotation like gears, instantly amplifying its spin. The formation of four [Rasengan], i.e., the [Planet Rasengan], released a horizontal tornado that hit the incoming pressure the way a drill hits stone—not by opposing force with force but by shredding it.

What remained of the Fox's attack had nowhere left to travel.

The whirling construct by [PlanetRasengan], which caught the earlier competing explosions of [PlanetaryRasengan] and [Biju Dama] and shoved them back straight into the Nine-Tailed Fox.

The Fox tried to resist for a few seconds and then was overwhelmed by the sheer force of the combined attacks, ultimately being pushed back.

The blast drove him far back across the waterlogged floor of the mindscape, tails whipping behind him, until the blast lost all its energy and dissipated into nothingness. The fox had been carried too far now.

In the isolated space, Minato exhaled slowly after Ryu succeeded in repelling the attack.

Kushina hadn't blinked. "He pushed it back... The [Biju Dama]… unbelievable."

"He created yet another [Rasengan]… Now I am feeling a bit depressed," Minato said.

"Don't feel too depressed; you would have done so if you had more time," Kushina said.

"Maybe… I had a few ideas… but not at the level of this boy… He implemented them in real battle… I can see he created them just now for the first time… and this one was just a light version of earlier jutsu," Minato said.

Kushan nodded.

"The advanced form takes too much time to build," Minato said, his eyes tracking the dissipating chakra. "This one was fast, with more focused power instead of an omnidirectional blast."

"The boy did great; he won the bet … but did you hear what he said?"

The silence that followed the blast was the kind that came after something impossible.

The Fox regained his footing on the far side of the corridor. He was not in a hurry. He looked at the space between them and the boy still standing exactly where he had been standing before the attack.

Moon Clan. Someone from those people must have told him about the Father and his brother.

The tension bled out of the Fox's massive frame as he stared at the boy.

"You won," Fox declared.

Ryu smiled.

"I will never try to hurt the brat again—that was the promise," the Fox said. "And I will not try to take over his body and leave him alone."

A pause.

"And I will keep my chakra in check." The tone shifted slightly—less concession, more personal correction. "No more leaks like this."

In the isolated space, neither Minato nor Kushina spoke for a moment.

The Fox's voice still carried through the seal, and what it had promised answered the fear they had carried since the night of Naruto's birth.

"He would be safe after this," Kushina said.

"And we did not spend chakra, as we did not have to intervene." Minato's voice was measured. "This means we have more time to see our child."

Their chakra was not infinite. Whatever reservoir had been sealed into Naruto's life force would deplete—second by second in a passive state, faster in an active form. Every slight intervention—even observation—burnt through time they could never recover.

They had not stepped forward today.

"We need rules for how we will spend our little chakra," Kushina said.

Minato nodded once. "Yes. Only when the danger truly calls for it or when our child needs it."

She did not argue. She had been the one to say it first.

The fight was over now. What remained was its aftermath. Will fox keep his word?

Ryu looked down.

The black water gave back a version of himself he did not fully recognise—not in the unsettled way of a stranger's reflection, but in the precise way of something real that he had not expected to see yet. Molten gold-like shine where skin should have been. The halo suspended on his head. The jagged, devil horn-like projections rising from the angelic halo. The dark crest across his back features a crescent moon cradling a sun and a horizontal arrow, which is the crest of the Hamura Clan. And the tomoe, arranged above and below the crest.

He raised his hands and studied them.

Ryu thought, "So this is [Chakra Mode].. Just like future Naruto... Was it the result of too much biju chakra, fully stabilised under my own control?

The theory assembled itself clearly. When an enormous quantity of biju chakra stopped fighting its container and was genuinely controlled—not suppressed, but brought fully to heel—the chakra began organising itself. It sought form. The chakra naturally wants to form a stable structure, as if it wants to be alive. Couple it with a live body, and it forms this stable framework. At a microscopic level, it achieves what Ryu was already training for.

He closed his eyes.

He let himself feel the form rather than only think through it. The way it sat over his body. The way his pathways ran easier inside it instead of fighting the load. The way it was not a blaze but a structure—organised, deliberate, and sustainable.

"It is similar to what I am building with [Golden Aura]. But it is more natural than forced and more advanced, as if the instructions are already set in the chakra. I need to capture those instructions."

Data Capture of [Chakra Mode] — in progress]

[Golden Aura] correlation identified

The [Chakra Mode] tries to form a stable structure around tissues and cells to form a stronger body by alternating Yin-Yang layers, similar to what Ryu does with [Golden Aura].

Ryu let [InstinctGPT] record everything: the architecture, the stabilisation pattern, the cellular-level chakra distribution, everything. The feeling and dynamics of the energy flowing through his body as he manipulated it with precision and control. It was a new level of understanding and mastery that he was eager to explore further, pushing the boundaries of what he thought was possible with his abilities.

"This exact form cannot be reproduced without Fox chakra. But the principles can be applied to my advantage."

Ryu would not be giving anyone else stolen power from a tailed beast. But the structural logic behind a genuinely stabilised whole-body chakra integration—that could be studied, adapted, and rebuilt into personalised forms for his family using their own chakra reserves. A version for each of them. Tailored to their bodies. A different project, and it would take some time, but now he had a working model to study.

In the isolated space, Minato had not stopped thinking about it since Ryu's battle cry rang through the corridor.

"I have heard of the Sage of Six Paths," he said, half to Kushina and half to himself. "But not his brother. There is no record of him in anything I have ever read."

"No." Minato was quiet for a moment. "And yet I believe him."

Kushina glanced at him, then back at the corridor where Ryu stood. "The Fox didn't argue it either."

"Fox believed it too," Minato said. "I think Fox is also familiar with those the boy mentioned. And that hidden clan fox mentioned is also related to the Sage of Six Paths."

"With that kind of compatibility with Biju Chakra and this level of power for his age, he must be a direct descendant of the Sage," Kushina said.

"You are selling him short," Minato said.

Kushina asked, "What do you mean?"

"You can credit his lineage for the chakra, perhaps," Minato said. "For that kind of affinity with a tailed beast, maybe. But for fuinjutsu? No. Fuinjutsu demands hard work and intelligence."

Kushina glanced at him. "You mean he isn't all luck and lineage?… He has the talent and the hard work and intelligence to back it up?"

"Even a Uchiha with a [Sharingan] doesn't become a grandmaster without discipline," Minato said simply. "The eye can grant insight into Fuinjutsu, but it cannot replace intelligence and hard work.

Ryu opened his eyes after analysing his newfound power. The Fox also analysed his [Chakra mode].

"Your compatibility with my chakra surprised even me," the Fox said. "You are also exceptionally good at making your opponent surprised…angry."

Ryu tilted his head. "I'll take that as a compliment."

"I know you would."

"You are more compatible with my chakra than those Uzumaki women ever were," he said. "The chakra is naturally drawn to you."

His tails shifted once behind him.

"So, of course, you would keep returning here… To absorb more of it for your own gain."

Something changed in Ryu's face. His earlier smile twisted in anger as the golden aura of [Chakra Mode] flared, corresponding to his emotions.

Ryu stared at the beast.

"Say that again," Ryu said, his voice dropping to a dangerous quiet.
