DAYA'S POV.

In hindsight, making a plan to steal scent concealers and blockers to stalk the Alpha and Orderline while also being an accomplice should have been the first red flag. But Chloe had pleaded. She had been desperate because of Arthur's safety, and being a healer meant understanding her need, so I said yes.
Saturday afternoons should not entail tumbling out of the bush and landing on your face in front of the leaders of the pack. Nor did it entail the Alpha being beyond pissed with his mate.
But all that became a backdrop when a sensation slammed into my body, travelling through my veins like an intruder. A pleasant intruder who prodded the defences that I built from the ground-up. Nothing prepared me for the feeling that turned my heart into a frantic beating mess.
