(Author's POV)
The moment Fabian noticed Shaun's unusually blackened, corrupted eyes and the weapon concealed in his hand, his past trauma resurfaced, shooting like lightning across his peripheral vision. The hauntingly gruesome deaths of Camilla Stephens and Tristan Stephens (his parents) right in front of a little Fabian mingled with Jacob and Myra's ashen, pallid faces. Just thinking about it made his blood run cold.
In a split second, he made a decision.
One scare was enough for him to endure in this lifetime; he wanted to prevent history from repeating itself at all costs. There was no way he was going to let any mishap happen again. This time, he would protect his people even if it meant he had to sacrifice himself.
Lunging forward, he placed his body right between the two, attempting to shield Jacob. Then, he screamed with all his might, "GRANDPAAA~~~~~ WATCH OUT."
