It was well past midnight by the time they found each other again.
Jin had sent one message to all four of them, telling them to meet at the stone bridge by the river. He got there first and leaned against the railing, watching the lanterns sway on their strings over the water. The crowds had thinned a little, but not much. The drums were still going somewhere on the far bank, slower now, and people were still drifting past in twos and threes, laughing and carrying food.
Kyung-min and Hyunwoo showed up first.
Kyung-min was holding three skewers of grilled chicken in one hand and a paper cup of something steaming in the other. Hyunwoo had a little wooden mask hanging from a string around his neck, the crooked grinning face of the fool, and he was still carrying that enormous bag on his back.
"You're still wearing that?" Jin asked, pointing at the bag.
"Where else would I put it?" Hyunwoo said.
"You could have put it down. Anywhere. For five minutes."
