The system had gone quiet after handing out its rewards, and the plaza fell into a stillness that felt almost peaceful compared to everything that had come before it. Jin slumped against the wreckage of a display shelf, letting the staff rest across his lap, the metal cool against his skin despite the blood and ash streaked along it.
Joon sprawled out on the cold tile a few feet away, his Magnetron Sphere hovering lazily above his palm and crackling faintly as it spun in slow, aimless circles. Seul leaned against a broken fridge with her knees pulled up to her chest, absently picking at the dried blood crusted along the seams of her gloves.
For a while, nobody said anything. They just sat there, listening to the faint hum of Joon's sphere and the distant groan of the building settling around them.
Finally, Joon broke the silence.
"...I'm never moving again," he muttered, voice muffled against the floor.
