The surprise attack was successful, and in a short period, Akane, Tsunade and Orochimaru killed all but one Rain Ninja.
"I will take this," Orochimaru said to the last remaining Ninja, and he planned on getting all the information he could from him. Tsunade nodded in return, and she looked around for a second and said, "I will check on others and see what can be done."
Akane nodded at her words, and he communicated with Zetsu, who was tracking the ROOT Ninja that had escaped. The ROOT Ninja wasn't far, and leaving a clone at the place, Akane rushed in the direction of the ROOT Ninja while ordering Zetsu to launch a surprise attack when he was close to the ROOT Ninja.
It didn't take much time to reach ROOT Ninja's location as Akane knew the path. Since they had been discovered anyway, Akane used Lightning Release to increase his speed.
'Now,' He ordered the Zetsu to surprise the ROOT Ninja, and the masked Ninja, who was rushing towards the information supply place, found something coming out of his body.
He was surprised by the sudden event, and before he could understand what was happening, Akane, who had reached the location, rushed towards him and smashed his head on the ground.
He created a clone who guarded the surroundings, and without wasting any time, Akane used dream manipulation and pulled the knocked-out ROOT Ninja into his dream.
The surroundings changed, and the ROOT Ninja found himself appearing in front of Danzo, and he had fabricated memories which told him that his information pigeon had already reached Danzo, and now he was making a verbal report.
"The guy called Akane is strong, much stronger than what was in the report. It wouldn't be wrong to put him on the levels of Jonin, and he is still hiding some abilities."
"Tsunade and Orochimaru seem to have gotten closer, and Orochimaru knows about Akane from Tsunade, much more than what is known to us."
"The camp is destroyed, and others who were on the mission have died. They made sure to fake themself, but I think Tsunade and Orochimaru will know that the attack was caused by us. But they won't have any proof, besides the memories which they can't show because of other secrets."
"The Rain Ninjas have also been killed, and I have fed the fake information about Konoha and Suna that you told me."
"The only thing left is for Rain ninjas to attack the Land of Wind's Daimyo's daughter when she reaches the border, but it seems the information has been sold to Iwagakure by Rain Ninjas."
"I couldn't meet their leader. A Masked Ninja, whose identity is unknown, was the one who contacted me."
Listening to the report, Akane had cold eye. He knew that Danzo could do anything for himself in the name of Konoha, and the interaction just now made his determination stronger to mess up Danzo as soon as possible.
"Tell all the orders I gave to you and everything else you know. If I find even one missing, you are dead." Danzo spoke in the dream under Akane's orders, and the ROOT Ninja started to answer as soon as he heard the orders.
"I was told to sell the information about Land of Wind's Daimyo's daughter to Rain Ninjas."
"I was told to check up on Akane and get more information on him."
"I was told to kill Hokage's spies in the Land of Rain."
"I was told to create chaos in the Land of Rain."
"I was told to..."
The ROOT Ninja started to list various orders, and when he stopped, Akane cut off his head and ended the dream. In the outside world, not even a few seconds had passed since Akane had changed the time ratio and rubbing his head slightly, he killed the ROOT Ninja and burned his body, while taking the mask away.
Akane released the clone, and he returned to the place where he was supposed to meet Tsunade. There, he saw Orochimaru holding a few masks and Tsunade with two Konoha Ninjas, one Captain of the base camp and another one who seemed to have survived.
"Rest dead, huh?" Akane murmured when he reached there, but he saw the Captain shaking his head.
"No, most survived but are injured. Only two deaths occurred. All thanks to you all," The Captain said, sarcasm evident on his face. Even though he knew that if it wasn't for their timely reminder, everyone in the camp would have died without even knowing that ROOT Ninjas had betrayed them.
"So? What now?" Akane asked Orochimaru and Tsunade, ignoring what the Captain said. Since he knew that even if he saved their life, if there came a chance when the Hokage orders them to kill him, they wouldn't think twice.
Noticing that his words were disregarded, the Captain didn't say anything, but he moved away from the place with the other Konoha ninja.
"Oh?" Orochimaru's eyes gleamed at his action, and he felt that the Captain of the camp would be a good usable piece if used correctly. Tsunade thought of saying something but she decided not to. Even though she was sure that the Captain wasn't behind the attack, for her, her teacher and Danzo were slowly getting similar.
"We have met the spies already, so the mission can be considered to be completed. Since they have survived, I am sure they will send Teacher a letter about the situation. We can expect Akane's ability to be known to Teacher, even if he didn't show much." Tsunade spoke with a thoughtful face, and Akane nodded at her words.
"From the Rain ninja, I got to know that they obtained information from an old informant. It could or could not be ROOT Ninjas. Since they were on a quick clean-up and return mission, I am sure their disappearance would be noticed. Soon another squad will be here to check about their disappearance."
"I think we have 15-20 minutes. We have to leave this place if we don't want to get 'caught'." Orochimaru shared his thoughts, and although he had an idea of what they could do, he didn't say anything and decided to see what plans they had.
'I wonder if they are going to talk about the masked guy from before.'
