Aurora looked directly into Mary's eyes.
"Let's save the person whose life is in immediate danger first... and then help the person who can still continue living."
Mary fell silent. Although worry still lingered inside her heart, her resistance had weakened considerably.
After taking a long, trembling breath, she finally nodded. "All right... I agree."
Standing nearby, Adam quietly let out a sigh of relief that he had been holding in for what felt like hours.
Unable to hide his happiness, he walked over and gently hugged Mary.
With a smile, he teased, "Now that's my wife. Gentle, kind, and reasonable."
He couldn't help but continue,
"Why do you always end up opposing Adeline? I keep telling you that you misunderstand her. You're like this with Adeline, and now you're becoming like this with Aurora too."
Mary lowered her head. After a long silence, she sighed softly.
"I honestly don't understand it myself."
Her brows knitted together.
