Aurora turned around and opened the front door. Standing outside was Lucas.
As soon as Lucas entered the house, he immediately noticed Alex and Adeline.
His expression instantly became grim. His brows knitted together. "Why are both of you here?"
He looked directly at Alex. "Didn't I already tell you my decision?"
Alex calmly nodded. "You did. But we still need Mom's permission."
The moment Lucas heard that, his expression changed dramatically.
"Are you an idiot? If you tell Mom..."
He suddenly stopped himself. His gaze unconsciously shifted toward Adeline.
The meaning behind his silence couldn't have been more obvious.
If Mary discovered the truth, she might end up blaming Adeline. The atmosphere instantly became awkward.
