After ending the phone call with Veronica, Daxter gripped his phone so tightly that his knuckles turned white. His breathing was uneven as he ignored the confused and anxious stares from the dozens of executives seated inside the main conference room of the Paris office.
Without saying a single word, Daxter turned around and strode across the room. He immediately dialed the number of the bodyguard team commander he had assigned to protect Viona in London.
"Aiden! What the hell happened over there?!" Daxter barked the moment the call connected, his voice thundering low through the office corridor.
"Forgive us, Sir," Aiden's voice on the other end sounded breathless and full of guilt. "Miss Viona jumped into the road to save Mrs. Veronica, who was almost hit by a bus. It all happened too fast. We are currently at St. Mary's Hospital. The medical team is treating Miss Viona in the emergency room."
