Chapter 494 - 494: Frog Jumps

After Hagrid came over, Kasenhis quickly tapped himself with an Ender Pearl, then immediately threw it in Hagrid's direction.

Bang!

Just like that, Hagrid replaced Kasenhis beneath the dragon mask and took the hissing for him.

Kasenhis, meanwhile, put on his best innocent expression and reappeared around the corner, then began frantically teleporting in place over and over again.

The dense cloud of purple motes finally attracted the Ender Dragon's attention.

"Oh, looks like you two are getting along pretty well, aren't you? Though have you thought about how I'm supposed to get this thing off?"

Hagrid finally escaped from the little dragon and tapped the dragon mask stuck on his own head, sounding rather helpless.

"I'll help you."

Kasenhis reached out and tapped the dragon mask.

The next instant, it shattered into countless pieces.

"Oh, look at the bond between you two. It's like you hatched from the same egg."

Hagrid watched Kasenhis interact with the Ender Dragon with a smile in his eyes and spoke sincerely.

"Mm-hm, of course. I hatched it myself. Well, I watched it hatch myself," Kasenhis said proudly.

Hagrid nodded.

"Have you thought about what you're going to call it?"

Kasenhis shrugged.

"Ender Dragon."

Hagrid grinned and sat down beside Kasenhis.

"Well then, Professor Kasenhis, dear sir, could you let me get a little closer to little Ender?"

Kasenhis looked at Hagrid and raised an eyebrow.

"Of course, if he likes you."

Hagrid thumped his chest confidently.

"Don't worry. No adorable little creature that dislikes me has ever been born into this world!"

Then he reached out very gently, intending to stroke the Ender Dragon's back with one finger first.

The Ender Dragon tilted its head and looked at Hagrid.

That one little head tilt alone melted Hagrid's heart so completely that he forgot to move for a moment.

But he quickly came back to his senses and continued reaching forward.

The instant his finger touched the Ender Dragon's back, however, it suddenly passed straight through.

His finger went through the Ender Dragon's body and landed on Kasenhis's shoulder instead.

Hagrid: "????????????"

The question marks over Hagrid's head were as numerous as the stars in the sky.

"It... it's intangible?"

Kasenhis shook his head, then nodded.

"In a certain sense, saying that isn't wrong. But it's solid to me."

As he spoke, he reached out and scratched beneath the Ender Dragon's chin with one finger.

The Ender Dragon cooperated by making a comfortable purring sound.

Hagrid looked at the scene like a repressed little brat who had spent three whole years staring at an incredibly beautiful girl in his class without ever daring to confess.

Every day he had fussed over her, brought her Starbucks, never missed a chance to care for her...

Only to discover in the end that she had already had a boyfriend the entire time.

Saying that the sky had collapsed couldn't even begin to describe how Hagrid felt at that moment.

Kasenhis watched Hagrid's face suddenly wrinkle up like a dehydrated orange and helplessly turned toward the Ender Dragon, intending to negotiate with it.

Unfortunately, the Ender Dragon's tiny head immediately shook from side to side.

Seeing that made Hagrid want to die even more.

Kasenhis had no useful solution either, so he could only shrug.

"You saw it yourself. It's not up to me, right?"

With that, Kasenhis prepared to make his escape.

If he didn't leave now, he was afraid he might not get another chance.

After all, the orange sitting on Hagrid's neck looked like it might start spraying juice at any moment.

Hagrid followed after him.

...

Sirius and the others were sitting on the sofa chatting when they began hearing a strange sound coming closer and closer from the distance.

"I'm begging you, Kasenhis, just let me touch it once!"

"Seriously, I feel like my whole body is made of Nifflers right now, and pumpkin juice is flowing through my veins."

"Just once. Just once, alright?"

"I swear, I'll only touch it this one time. I won't ask again after this!"

"Please, Brother Kasenhis! I'll buy you alcohol. Lots and lots of alcohol!"

Kasenhis, who had been continuously trying to escape from Hagrid, suddenly stopped.

He rubbed his chin.

"Hmm?"

Everyone in the sitting room made the exact same sound.

"Hmm? Why does what Hagrid's saying sound so strange?" Dumbledore frowned, looking utterly baffled.

Sirius and Lupin, meanwhile, unconsciously put on expressions of pain.

They still remembered when Harry had been in fourth year and competed in the Triwizard Tournament.

Back then, the two of them, together with Kasenhis, had personally cut off Hagrid's budding romance.

And now, Hagrid's romantic feelings had somehow sprouted again?

Except...

Why had they grown crooked this time?

Was this right?

The two exchanged a glance.

In the next instant, they somehow achieved the kind of perfect synchronisation normally only seen between Pacific Rim Jaeger pilots.

All of them stood up at once and quietly crept toward the source of the sound.

"Yes, yes, exactly like that. Oh, he's so adorable... black and white."

...

Lupin frowned.

"Kasenhis is a white man, right? Where would the black come from?"

Sirius spoke up.

"Could it be Hagrid's?"

"Logically speaking, Hagrid's shouldn't be black either, right?" Dumbledore shook his head, equally confused.

"Wait. Isn't the real issue why the hell they're saying things like this?" Lupin was the first to come back to his senses.

He pulled the yellow heart out of his chest, painted it red again, and stuffed it back in.

"So what do we do now?" Dumbledore asked.

"Simple. Open the door and see what the hell those two are doing!" Lupin said.

"But the problem is... what if they're actually serious?" Dumbledore hesitated.

He wasn't exactly a rigid person.

If anything, he was a little too open-minded.

"With Kasenhis's physique, he could tuck Hagrid under one arm and do frog jumps! If we don't get in there now, Hagrid might only be able to call Professor McGonagall 'sister' from then on!" Lupin said anxiously.

"Honestly, I don't see much of a problem. I've always felt Hagrid has a certain maternal charm to him," Sirius said faintly.

"In that case, when the time comes, I'll absolutely introduce you to Miss Hagrid and aggressively play matchmaker for the two of you," Lupin said viciously.

"For the sake of our lives and yours, use an Unlocking Charm on the door, unless you want Hagrid to tuck you under his arm and do frog jumps with you," Dumbledore said, staring at Sirius with the face of the Flame Punch.

Sirius didn't hesitate for even a second.

He pulled out his wand.

"Confringo!"
