Chapter 158 - First encounter.

As Mewtwo dragged the almost unconscious Tomura toward himself, he looked around the battlefield once more.

Most of the enemies were already down.

The battle was practically over.

Even the portal villain had been defeated and restrained by Eraser Head and the other teachers, while all of the Nomus were either incapacitated or unable to continue fighting.

The assault had turned into a complete disaster for the villains.

A massive loss.

However—

In the next instant, something happened again.

Black liquid suddenly started to pour out from Tomura's mouth and from the remains surrounding Kurogiri.

The moment Mewtwo saw it, he immediately recognized what it was.

That strange teleportation Quirk.

And unlike before, now he understood how it worked.

More importantly—

He was not going to allow them to escape again.

Immediately, Mewtwo used his telekinesis to grab the black liquid and throw it away from Tomura's body before it could fully cover him.

The result was immediate.

More liquid started coming out of Tomura's mouth.

However, Mewtwo simply continued forcing it away over and over again.

After all, from what he had observed before, the liquid needed to completely engulf the target in order to teleport them properly.

So if he prevented that from happening—

Then the teleportation should fail.

And his hypothesis was right.

Tomura remained there.

Meanwhile, Kurogiri had already been taken away and restrained by the heroes, yet Tomura still could not disappear.

What was more disturbing was the fact that it almost looked like Tomura was drowning in the black substance as more and more liquid forced its way out.

Still, Mewtwo did not stop.

If the Quirk had side effects, then whoever was using it clearly did not care much either.

After all, they were trying to save Tomura.

Most likely, they would not let him die.

And once again—

Mewtwo was right.

After a few more moments, the black liquid finally stopped appearing.

Tomura remained there, barely conscious and unable to escape.

"Caught you," muttered Mewtwo coldly.

However…

Of course things could not end that easily.

Of course not.

The very next moment, something happened that made Mewtwo's blood boil.

From the broken ground beneath them, multiple hands suddenly emerged.

Then slowly—

A figure rose from the darkness.

A man wearing a suit and a strange mask.

The instant Mewtwo saw him, his eyes narrowed sharply.

He recognized him.

He had seen that figure before.

Inside the memories of the fused Nomu.

And from that single glimpse alone, Mewtwo understood one thing very clearly.

This man was dangerous.

Extremely dangerous.

And the proof of that came immediately afterward.

Because in that exact instant, All Might appeared beside Mewtwo.

Not smiling.

Not heroic.

Not reassuring.

No—

For the first time since Mewtwo had met him, All Might looked genuinely furious.

"You dare to appear here," exclaimed the Symbol of Peace, his voice filled with restrained rage.

The masked man merely adjusted his posture calmly.

"Well, well," he answered casually. "I did not originally intend to appear personally. The truth is, I only came here to retrieve my apprentice, so if—"

However, before the man could finish speaking—

A Shadow Ball suddenly shot straight toward his head at high speed.

The masked man was forced to block it immediately.

BOOOOM.

The explosion spread violently across the battlefield.

Smoke and psychic energy expanded outward while the surrounding villains and heroes alike froze for a moment in shock.

Meanwhile, Mewtwo slowly lowered his hand, his exhausted eyes locked onto the masked figure with open hostility.

"Tsk… of course it wasn't going to be easy," muttered Mewtwo as the smoke from the Shadow Ball slowly dissipated.

The masked man remained standing almost completely unharmed.

"You are pretty impolite for a student," spoke the man calmly, adjusting his posture as if the attack had merely inconvenienced him. "Did the heroes not teach you to respect your elders?"

However, instead of receiving an answer—

He received a Flamethrower directly to the face.

Mewtwo had absolutely no intention of talking.

The flames engulfed the masked man instantly, forcing him to react immediately. One of his arms suddenly enlarged grotesquely, muscles bulging outward while black spikes erupted from the skin.

Then he punched forward.

BOOOOM.

The sheer force behind the strike dispersed the flames violently.

Still, Mewtwo showed absolutely no intention of restraining himself.

Nor any intention of answering questions.

He already knew one thing about this man.

He was dangerous.

Far too dangerous.

And because of that, Mewtwo refused to lower his guard even for a second just to exchange words.

Immediately, psychic energy surged around his body once more.

He activated Agility.

Then Calm Mind.

Then Laser Focus.

His senses sharpened instantly while his psychic output increased again, pushing his exhausted body even further beyond its limits.

However, the strain was enormous.

Mewtwo could already feel the pain building up inside his muscles and nerves.

And he was not the only one struggling.

From the side, he noticed All Might barely managing to maintain his muscular form. Smoke constantly escaped from his body now, evidence that his time limit was approaching quickly.

Still—

Neither of them could afford to take this lightly.

Not against someone like this.

Fortunately, they were not alone.

One after another, the teachers arrived around the battlefield.

Then came Nejire.

Tamaki.

Mirio.

The remaining Yonkous positioned themselves beside Mewtwo and All Might without hesitation, all of them facing the same enemy together.

The masked man slowly looked around at everyone surrounding him.

"What a warm welcome," he spoke with amusement. "But will you actually be able to stop me?"

Then his tone became colder.

"Now that I think about it… perhaps I should take this opportunity to eliminate all of you."

The instant those words left his mouth, his body changed again.

Both of his arms twisted unnaturally like giant springs while countless spikes erupted from them.

And then—

He moved.

Not walked.

Moved.

Fast enough to distort the air itself.

However, the first ones to react were neither All Might nor Mewtwo.

It was the Big Three.

Mirio struck first.

Even All For One looked surprised for a brief moment.

The villain attempted to counter immediately, swinging one of his monstrous arms toward Mirio's head—

But the attack phased right through him.

Mirio emerged from the side at high speed and landed a powerful punch directly against All For One's face, twisting the villain's head slightly from the impact.

The surprise lasted only an instant.

All For One adapted immediately.

One of his enlarged arms shot toward Mirio in retaliation—

However, before the strike could land, a gigantic hammer smashed against him from the side.

BOOOOOM.

The attack forced All For One to step backward.

The giant hammer was not an actual weapon.

It was formed from multiple transformed limbs connected together.

Tamaki's body.

His Quirk had evolved even further.

All For One countered immediately with his spiked arms, smashing against the biological hammer and forcing Tamaki backward.

"Wonderful Quirks," spoke All For One while observing them calmly despite the attacks. "I really should add them to my collection."

His masked face tilted slightly toward the students.

"I could give them much better use."

Yet before he could continue—

A massive spiral wave of energy slammed directly into him.

Nejire's attack engulfed his body completely, detonating against him with enough force to crack the surrounding ground and send shockwaves through the battlefield.

When the smoke cleared, steam slowly rose from All For One's body.

But that was all.

No serious injuries.

No visible damage.

"I believe," spoke the villain slowly while smoke escaped from his shoulders, "that I should truly begin farming Quirks here."

Meanwhile, Mewtwo used Life Dew on both himself and All Might once again, restoring part of their stamina and injuries. The idea was simple—give themselves enough strength for another counterattack.

And the moment they recovered even slightly, the rest of the heroes moved.

One after another, they activated their Quirks and attacked All For One from every direction possible.

However, most of the attacks looked almost useless against this foe.

It was as if he naturally nullified everything thrown at him.

The attacks he could not directly negate were simply avoided with absurd ease, his movements sharp and efficient despite the overwhelming number of opponents surrounding him.

Various heroes rushed him in close combat.

Eraser Head attacked first, trying to create openings.

Mirio followed right after him, phasing in and out while searching for blind spots.

Tamaki transformed both of his arms into massive armored appendages and attacked from the side with overwhelming force.

However—

Except for Tamaki, none of them possessed enough physical strength to truly damage him.

And even Tamaki himself was eventually overwhelmed.

In one quick movement, All For One struck him directly in the stomach with a brutal counterattack and sent him flying away across the battlefield.

The same happened to the others.

One by one, the heroes were thrown aside.

In less than a minute, nearly everyone had been pushed back.

The only one remaining in close range was Mirio.

Mostly because he simply could not be hit.

Or rather—

Not easily.

All For One suddenly stopped attacking for a moment and instead began observing him carefully.

"Your power is interesting," he spoke calmly while Mirio phased through another attack. "Probably difficult to manage… but once mastered, it makes you practically untouchable."

Then suddenly, the villain looked to the side.

"Looks like my nemesis is ready," he muttered with amusement. "You took long enough, old friend."

At that exact moment—

BOOOOOOM.

Two punches collided.

The impact generated a shockwave so massive it created something akin to a tornado around them.

Dust, debris, and shattered concrete exploded outward in every direction.

All Might and All For One stood facing each other once more.

"Oh?" muttered All Might.

For the first time since the battle began—

He actually felt good.

Not at full strength.

Not even close.

But thanks to Mewtwo's healing, he was in far better condition than when he fought the Nomus earlier.

At the same time, Mewtwo moved again.

His body still hurt.

His muscles remained sore from overusing his powers and transformations.

Still…

An idea crossed his mind.

"Maybe the other form…" muttered Mewtwo to himself.

The smaller one.

Compared to the warrior-like transformation from before, this form seemed to place more strain on his psychic powers rather than directly on his body.

And in his current condition—

That was preferable.

With that in mind, Mewtwo floated above the ongoing fight and began charging his psychic power once more.

He already knew that in his exhausted base state, he would not be able to contribute much against All For One.

So one minute in another transformed state could be worth far more than half an hour fighting normally.

Purple psychic energy exploded around his body again.

He expanded the output forward this time instead of concentrating it inward.

It looked as though his entire body had become engulfed in flames made of pure psychic power.

He immediately felt the pressure building inside his head.

The strain was enormous.

Still—

This time, he felt he could do it.

Psychic power condensed around him into a giant sphere.

Then, above the sphere itself, a glowing DNA symbol appeared.

The surrounding heroes and villains instinctively stopped for a brief moment to look at him.

Then—

CRACK.

The sphere shattered like glass.

And Mewtwo emerged from inside.

This time, his appearance was completely different from before.

Much smaller.

Much sleeker.

His body looked lighter, more refined, almost perfectly built for psychic power rather than physical combat.

He slowly looked at his new form before muttering quietly,

"This will be Mega Mewtwo Y."

For a brief second—

The battlefield itself seemed to pause.

Even All For One stopped to analyze him.

Then, the moment All For One looked upward—

Mewtwo moved.

Fast.

Absurdly fast.

Blue afterimages appeared behind him as he vanished from sight entirely.

And in the next instant—

He was already beneath All For One.

The villain barely had time to react.

Mewtwo simply raised one hand and placed it directly against All For One's head.

Then he muttered only two words.

"Hyper Beam."

BOOOOOOOOOOM.

A gigantic beam of light erupted instantly.

The sheer power of the attack consumed everything in its path, engulfing All For One completely within the massive ray of energy.
