Chapter 157 - X

Mewtwo's appearance had completely changed.

Contrary to what had happened in his dreams, this time he had not become smaller.

No.

He was bigger.

Not by an absurd amount, but enough for the difference to be immediately noticeable. His entire frame looked denser, heavier, far more suited for direct combat than before.

However, the changes did not stop there.

His tail was shorter now, yet thicker and clearly more compact, almost like it had been redesigned for explosive movements rather than flexibility alone. His legs looked far stronger too, muscles visibly tighter and more defined, built for speed and brutal impact.

The same thing had happened to his forearms.

They were larger now, more muscular, and covered in visible streams of psychic energy flowing beneath the surface like glowing veins. Around his chest there was something resembling natural armor, a smooth but resistant layer that covered part of his torso and shoulders.

The transformation had not made him look more monstrous.

It made him look more dangerous.

More complete.

He truly looked more like a warrior than before.

The Nomu that had been blown away moments ago returned immediately, roaring as flames exploded around its body once more.

But Mewtwo ignored it completely.

Instead, he lowered his gaze toward his own hands.

Slowly, he opened and closed his fists.

Then he threw a couple of punches into the air, testing the feeling of this new body, adapting himself to the new balance, the new strength, the new flow of power moving through him.

The air exploded every time he moved.

Then—

He disappeared.

This time, the movement was different from before.

Before, the Nomu could at least barely react to his speed.

Now?

It completely lost sight of him.

Before the creature could even process where he had gone, Mewtwo suddenly appeared below it and landed a devastating Mega Kick directly against its stomach.

BOOOOOOOOM.

The impact folded the gigantic creature around his leg and launched it violently into the sky.

The Nomu crossed upward like a meteor.

Yet before it could even reach the highest point of its trajectory, Mewtwo appeared above it.

Floating there in silence, he looked down at the creature beneath him.

"Sorry," spoke Mewtwo calmly, psychic energy already beginning to flare wildly around his body again. "I won't be able to hold this form for too long… so I can't play around."

At that moment, his entire body shone in a deep purple light.

The pressure generated by the energy distorted the air itself.

Then Mewtwo pulled his fist back.

And struck with absolutely everything he had.

"Giga Impact."

The attack landed.

For one instant, the world itself seemed to freeze.

Then the Nomu was sent downward with catastrophic force.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOM.

The creature crashed into the ground so hard that the entire battlefield exploded apart. A gigantic crater formed instantly, shockwaves erupting in every direction and sending everyone present flying backwards.

What remained of the building collapsed completely.

Dust, debris, and broken metal were blasted into the sky.

The stadium…

Was no more.

Before the dust could even settle, Mewtwo moved again.

He appeared directly beside his classmates, who were still dealing with the final remaining Nomu.

Without stopping, Mewtwo twisted his body and unleashed a Mega Punch straight into the creature.

CRAAAAASH.

The Nomu's body bent unnaturally before being launched away completely incapacitated.

And immediately after that—

The transformation ended.

The psychic armor vanished.

The energy disappeared.

Mewtwo returned to his normal form in an instant before falling down onto one knee against the broken ground, breathing heavily from exhaustion.

His entire body hurt.

however, the 29 in his forearm turned into a 30.

Every muscle felt tense, almost burning from the strain of forcing that transformation and maintaining such an absurd output of power. Even breathing felt heavier than before.

Still, despite the exhaustion, a small smile appeared on his face.

"Okay…" muttered Mewtwo between breaths as he slowly tried to stand up again. "At least I can use that power now… but I can't maintain it for more than a minute."

Even saying those words made him realize how unstable the form still was.

The sheer amount of energy it consumed was monstrous.

It was powerful, yes.

Incredibly powerful.

But also dangerous for him.

"We should go to the U.S.J.," spoke Mirio suddenly, breaking the moment. "It has only been around six minutes since All Might left. Maybe we can still help."

The moment he said it, everyone immediately nodded.

Any kind of help could matter right now.

Without wasting another second, the four of them moved as fast as possible toward the U.S.J building nearby.

The closer they got, the clearer the sounds of battle became.

Explosions.

Crashes.

Shouts.

The moment they arrived, they immediately saw multiple teachers already fighting villains across the area.

However, unlike before, most of these enemies were human.

Still dangerous.

Still armed.

But human.

A little farther away, a group of teachers was fighting against another set of Nomus. There were several of them spread around the area.

All Might himself was battling two of the creatures simultaneously.

And even from the distance, Mewtwo noticed something immediately.

These Nomus were stronger than the earlier individual ones.

Not as monstrous as the giant fused Nomu they had just fought, but still powerful enough to pressure even All Might.

However, the real issue was obvious.

All Might was not only fighting the Nomus.

He was fighting against his own injuries too.

His movements were still overwhelming, but now Mewtwo could notice the slight delay between attacks, the moments where his breathing became heavier, the faint trails of smoke escaping from his body.

The Symbol of Peace was reaching his limit.

And honestly…

Mewtwo himself was not in much better condition.

More than tired, he felt drained.

That transformation had allowed him to overpower the giant Nomu, yes, but the cost had been absurd. His body still felt unstable after forcing that much psychic energy through himself.

At this point, fighting another monster like that head-on would be difficult even for him.

Almost as if reading his thoughts—or perhaps simply noticing how exhausted he looked—Mirio suddenly placed a hand on Mewtwo's shoulder.

Then he nodded.

That was all Mewtwo needed to understand.

Mirio, Nejire, and Tamaki immediately rushed forward to assist All Might against the Nomus.

The other teachers, meanwhile, were handling the weaker creatures relatively well. The real problem was the overwhelming number of villains flooding the area.

There were simply too many.

Most were not individually strong, but together they created chaos everywhere.

Mewtwo slowly floated upward above the battlefield, observing the situation from the air.

From there, he could clearly see how the teachers had divided themselves to protect the students while also trying to contain the villains.

Then—

In the center of the battlefield—

He saw someone.

A familiar figure.

The same one that had broken through the gates of U.A.

The leader.

At that moment, Mewtwo's exhausted eyes sharpened.

That…

Was his target.

"this fucker again, this time won't scape" exclaimed mewtwo.

With that, Mewtwo moved.

Even exhausted, his speed was still overwhelming.

A pulse of telekinetic force exploded outward from his hand and struck Tomura directly, smashing him face-first against the ground hard enough to crack the concrete beneath him.

Blood immediately began to drip from Tomura's mouth as his body bounced slightly against the floor.

However, in that same instant, Mewtwo noticed something important.

His telekinetic grip weakened almost immediately afterward.

"My powers really are drained up…" muttered Mewtwo under his breath.

The battle against the fused Nomu had consumed far more energy than he wanted to admit.

Still, he kept moving forward toward Tomura.

As he approached, he looked around carefully.

Several villains were nearby, yet something felt strange.

None of them dared to get too close to Tomura.

Almost like they were afraid of him.

The fog villain was there too, but at the moment he was occupied fighting Eraser Head alongside a couple of other teachers. The rest of the battlefield was equally chaotic, with heroes and villains clashing everywhere.

Tomura slowly stood up while trembling slightly.

The hatred in his eyes when he looked at Mewtwo was almost disturbing.

Then suddenly, another presence appeared beside Mewtwo.

Midoriya.

The green-haired boy had arrived while using One For All at the maximum percentage his body could currently endure. Lightning crackled around him as he nervously looked at the battlefield.

Mewtwo gave him a quick side glance.

Then he spoke directly into the boy's mind through telepathy.

"Kid, you aren't ready for this," said Mewtwo calmly. "But do me a favor. Make sure none of the smaller villains interrupt."

Midoriya stiffened immediately while listening.

"And if one of those black creatures appears, run. But yell if it comes. Don't take unnecessary risks."

Mewtwo's gaze sharpened slightly.

"Your life is valuable. There's no need for a hero to fall earlier than he should."

Midoriya's eyes widened slightly at those words, but before he could answer, Mewtwo had already moved.

He rushed directly toward Tomura.

And Tomura smiled.

A twisted smile appeared beneath the hand covering his face as he extended both arms toward the incoming Mewtwo, clearly intending to disintegrate him the moment contact happened.

However—

The instant his fingers touched Mewtwo—

Nothing happened.

Tomura's eyes widened.

A translucent psychic barrier surrounded Mewtwo's body, stopping the direct contact completely. Tomura's Decay spread against the surface of the barrier, but the psychic energy merely distorted slightly instead of crumbling apart.

"Looks like your Quirk doesn't work well against pure energy," spoke Mewtwo coldly.

Then he extended one hand forward.

A Shadow Ball formed instantly at point-blank range.

BOOOOOOM.

The attack exploded directly against Tomura's face and launched him away violently.

The explosion left blood running from Tomura's nose, mouth, and forehead as his body rolled across the ground before stopping.

Now he was barely conscious.

But honestly?

That did not matter much.

The heroes' side was winning.

And if they could capture this guy now, it would become a massive victory.

Mewtwo raised one hand and dragged Tomura back toward himself using telekinesis.

As he did, however, he noticed something important.

Tomura's Quirk activated through his hands.

More specifically…

Through all five fingers making contact.

Mewtwo stared at the villain's hands thoughtfully.

"If I cut them off…" thought Mewtwo quietly. "Wouldn't that make him harmless?"

The idea crossed his mind naturally.

Too naturally.

And after another second of thought, Mewtwo suddenly realized something.

"That's… actually a pretty psychopathic thought."

Then again…

Was it really?
