Normally, under different circumstances, I would've responded the way I always did.
Cocky. Arrogant. Like I was the best thing to happen to earth since sliced bread. That's what always escalated our arguments. Me calling Connor crazy. Him cussing me out. Then us not talking for a few days before we just brushed it under the rug. This time, however, I could see how much this had hurt him.
It was the worst possible timing. He was supposed to be elated right now after his great win. Walking on cloud nine. Not locked up in his house, eyes red, because it looked like I'd technically cheated on him.
Which wasn't true.
I hadn't even laid eyes on Harper this weekend. I was shocked when Connor told me Harper was in London on Friday. Not that I had any reason to know where Harper was, but it made me uncomfortable to know they'd been together.
