Chapter 363 - Chapter 363 - The Destiny That Cannot Change.

[Chapter Size: 2900 Words.]

Third Person POV

Aretuza.

...

...

The entire place fell silent at that moment. All the war they had fought inside and outside Aretuza had ended, and only silence reigned.

Windows, rooftops, walls, and structures all around were broken and in ruins; the blanket of snow created by the elves' storm had turned Aretuza into a white structure, even though it was summer.

Inside the hall, there was blood and bodies—both members of the Wild Hunt — soldiers and mages — as well as their ice hounds—scattered about, along with some sorcerers who had fallen in battle against the elves. At least those who had chosen to fight.

There, the sorceresses were the majority. Yennefer, Tissaia, Triss, Keira, Sabrina, Margarita, Philippa—even Francesca had stayed with her apprentice to fight. There were other unnamed sorcerers and sorceresses, finally able to breathe in relief after what had happened that night.

Nilfgaard, Northern mages, and the Wild Hunt, all united to assassinate and abduct two targets that night. In the end, all of them failed, while Hen perished in the middle of the fight as he was controlled to battle the elves; he died with a hammer crushing his chest, unable to defend himself.

They were all silent, watching Madara still on his knees after a supposed and strange sudden headache. Ciri, startled, looked at the figure before her with the body of a horse with pure white fur, as well as its enormous horn on its forehead, while the unicorn remained upright, displaying all of its unique beauty.

"What do you mean my existence is being threatened?" Madara stared at the unicorn. Certainly, it was not the same one he had encountered before, Eira's mother. This one was certainly larger and far more powerful.

"You are not an existence that was born in this era. Your mother gave birth to you 300 years ago," the unicorn said.

"300 years ago?!" Ciri exclaimed.

Even the sorceresses had their own reactions. Geralt frowned and looked at Madara.

"That's not possible!" Ciri retorted.

Madara did not deny it; he was, in fact, immersed in thought. He had already confirmed the theory that his clan had not survived, not a single member. To begin with, there should have been a Uchiha couple, since the Uchihas, having bodies with Chakra, could not have children with normal people—at least the men—since women without chakra would die due to the chakra the fetus would release in their bodies during pregnancy...

And there had never been any record of any Uchiha throughout the coming three centuries; there was no way for any record to go unnoticed for so long of someone using chakra or abilities like it, nor people who could change the color of their eyes to a blood red with black patterns and designs.

He had simply been born as one of the last living Uchihas, and when his parents died on the way to the capital of Cintra, at that time, he became the last Uchiha officially. Madara still did not understand how, in some way, his parents had not been able to use chakra to defend themselves.

"It's a long story, but the key to preserving the present... is the girl of destiny. You must interfere in the past and bring Madara's mother, pregnant, to a few years before this moment, so that he can be born. Otherwise, everything you have done together will be undone by fate..." the unicorn said.

Ciri was speechless. She began to become aware of those dreams, those words that had been whispering only in her dreams...

She couldn't help but look at Madara. She had never seen him so weakened.

Ciri was about to say something, but suddenly, she felt a shock in her mind. She groaned and fell to her knees.

Suddenly, she began to glimpse memories, as if she were reliving everything.

A Ciri who never met Madara. In fact, he never existed.

A Ciri as a child, spoiled by her grandmother and always running away from the castle or listening to the knights' conversations waiting for a good story... But she was lonely in the castle of Cintra.

When Cintra was attacked, she had to flee in a hurry, hiding, accumulating traumas, while being hunted and going through all kinds of terrible situations.

She found Geralt, he took her to the school of the wolves, and she trained at Kaer Morhen for a few years, and had help from the sorceresses, but she never reached even a small part of the potential she has now or even when she left Kaer Morhen in this life.

She only knew how to fight and cast some spells — even so, flawed.

She did not know how to control her blood. It was dangerous... dangerous for her and for everyone.

Back to that, an event very similar to the present happened in Aretuza in that world, everything had happened differently. Without Madara and without the Wild Hunt, but the mages entered a bloodbath against one another... the events changed completely.

She saw Vilgefortz still alive, trying to capture her. She saw mages dying while she couldn't do anything but fight with a sword — and even so, she was weak. Everyone wanted to capture her. She was like a prize of a hunt, and she was too weak to defend herself...

She only managed to escape by using the portal in the portal room.

Everything went black after that. She didn't know if Geralt and Yen had survived that chaos.

She felt fear. Despair.

That Ciri... was herself.

It was the version Madara had shown her before, one she would become if she had not met Madara in that forest or if he even existed in this world.

That gave her a chill.

She knelt with difficulty, in respect.

"Ciri, are you alright?" Madara placed his hand on her shoulder while using healing chakra.

"I... I am..." she replied, still shaken, looking seriously at the unicorn that watched her.

"You are already experiencing temporal lapses, and our time is short now..."

"Why now?" Ciri asked angrily. "Why didn't you speak about this before? Why didn't you warn us?"

"Because the vision only came to me at this moment. My task is to guide you. We must go to a world where some planets are aligning perfectly in the sky, releasing enough power to take you to the past. I need you to come with me," said the unicorn.

"Why should she go?" Geralt stepped forward angrily.

"Because everything these two have done so far, especially with Madara's existence, will be undone. You will never remember them as you do now... If the boy is not born in this era, the present will change completely."

"Why are you helping us?" Madara asked with narrowed eyes.

"Because you can stop the catastrophe that is yet to come."

"Are you talking about the White Frost?" Madara asked.

"Yes. The destroyer of worlds. The girl may even be able to stop it, but there is a monster in this world that she cannot stop."

"I imagine you're talking about the other one... Otsutsuki..." Madara sighed. Every problem...

"Yes. Only you can stop her. And if you do not have enough power to face her, this world will be destroyed. The time of her being imprisoned is coming to an end. Ever since you destroyed her subordinates, she has been trying to escape the prison that the gods of this world placed her in," the unicorn explained.

Geralt seemed lost, but before anyone could say anything, Ciri interrupted, with a firm tone: "I will go."

"Ciri, you can't!" Geralt protested.

"No. This is the path. I can feel it," she replied.

If she trusted her blood, she clearly had to do that. Something within her demanded that action. It was as if everything pushed her toward it — to preserve Madara and Aren, her love and their child.

"Very well, child. I will be waiting beside the portal in the last structure of this castle. There it will be perfect for us to open a dimensional portal. I cannot take you directly to another world, but I will guide you so that you can do it. At the portal it will be easier," said the unicorn.

"I will go with you," Madara declared.

"You will go later. You have another task."

"What do you mean?"

The unicorn looked at all the sorceresses. Then, it struck its hoof on the ground, releasing a spell fast enough to catch everyone without giving them time to react.

-WHOOSH-

All of them, except Yennefer, began to faint. Even Tissaia, the most powerful sorceress/mage, fell to the ground unconscious.

Geralt frowned at the sight. Now, only Madara, Ciri, Geralt, and Yennefer remained before the unicorn in the middle of the silent hall.

"A human sorceress has taken someone protected by you. She is about to be tortured to extract information about you." Madara raised an eyebrow.

"Isabela...?" that name left Madara in a whisper. "Didn't Isabela go with the other sorcerers?" Madara asked Yennefer, while Ciri widened her eyes as she remembered.

"Wait... Coral opened a portal for her!" Ciri said.

"Damn..." she growled.

"Coral... what to expect from that lunatic!?" Yennefer exclaimed, irritated.

"I will kill her," Madara said, resolute. "That woman, even if she hasn't caused so many problems so far, has always been someone who would one day cross the line."

"Madara, please... I'll go ahead and take care of this. Can you take care of Isabela?" Ciri asked, as if she had already accepted her task.

Madara remained silent for a moment before sighing. "Alright. I'll take care of her."

"Let me go with Ciri," Yennefer asked the unicorn.

"No. You will not be able to accompany her. It is better that you remain in this world," the unicorn replied.

"Take care of our child..." Ciri said, looking at Geralt and Yennefer. "Please, stay here and keep Aren safe and hidden. Do whatever is necessary. I feel that I have to go. My blood demands it."

"Madara... you can reach me later, right? Please, save Isabela first," she asked again.

Madara stared at her as he stood up and held her hand, helping her stand as well. "Yes."

He could feel himself growing weaker, but he still had enough to deal with a sorceress and rescue Isabela.

Perhaps he only had 10% of his chakra left — not only because of the jutsus he had used, including the Susanoo, but also due to the chakra he failed to recover that he had sent to the other world, combined with the existential weakness that had practically consumed his reserves.

"I will bring you back. I will make sure nothing changes," Ciri said, touching his face and kissing him. Madara nodded.

"Geralt, accompany her as far as you can. I'll deal with Isabela," Madara said.

"I will be waiting for you at the portal," said the unicorn.

With those words, it disappeared.

Madara sighed and quickly vanished as well, silently, using his teleportation.

"Let's go," said Ciri.

"I'll go with you. If there's no other option, I'll follow you," Geralt replied.

As they moved through Aretuza, they found some people hiding in a corner, trembling. They were trying to stay out of the battle.

"Tell me... have the monsters already left?" the person/sorcerer/student shouted.

There were no more sounds of battle. The cold had also disappeared. Night reigned once again.

But Ciri and Geralt did not respond. They continued through the castle until they found an area where there was an empty portal arch, filled with symbols.

It was an ancient portal.

Aretuza had been built in that location precisely because of the enormous concentration of chaotic force there. That was why they chose to raise the school in that place.

And that portal was special.

It was used to travel between worlds.

It was an ancient portal of the Aen Elle, left behind before they abandoned that world.

That was why it would be used for Ciri's first crossing between worlds.

Ciri couldn't help but feel anxious. She already had direct information from Madara that she possessed the ability to travel between worlds, but even knowing that beforehand didn't make her any less nervous.

The concept of traveling between worlds was still something strange and impossible for any ordinary person. She, who had lived her entire life within the limits of her own capacity and understanding of the world, would never have imagined having that kind of power... until Madara told her this when he revealed he was not originally from this world.

"Will she be alright?" Geralt said, in a serious and concerned tone.

The unicorn did not seem to care about his tone. "Yes. She will go to a world where a planetary alignment is occurring. With the convergence of energies, she will have enough capacity to intervene in the past of that world," the unicorn explained.

"Why are you helping us?" Yennefer asked. The unicorn did not seem to have any connection to all of this.

"This world once belonged to me, sorceress. I ruled the regions known as the Kingdom of Kaedwen... thousands of years ago," said the unicorn, making everyone surprised.

If there was any place where unicorns lived in ancient times, it would certainly be in that region. After all, even the symbols of the kingdom represent the ancient lands of Kaedwen dominated by unicorns, and they represent this with a black unicorn with a red horn on their banners — because that was where they lived before the arrival of humans.

"Well, let's begin," the unicorn said, changing the subject as it moved toward the portal.

"How much time do we have?" Ciri asked.

"About 10 minutes."

"What?!" she exclaimed.

"The planets will align perfectly in 10 minutes, and we will only have one minute before they fall out of alignment. That is why we need to hurry."

Ciri immediately felt the urgency.

The unicorn lowered its head, and its horn began to glow. The runes around the portal arch began to light up.

"I need you to focus on opening the portal. You don't need to think of a place, I have already directed that for you. We only need your energy. Focus on the power of your blood and break space-time and the bonds of this world, for the first time."

Ciri listened and began to concentrate. Her hand rose toward the portal as she closed her eyes, imagining opening something that would take her out of that world.

"Come on... you can do it," Ciri said softly. "Even if you go in first, Madara will find you later. He can do that. I know he can,"

Ciri began to glow at that moment. The portal responded, and the runes that had once glowed gold began to shift into a green hue.

In the next instant, there was an explosion of energy at the center, and a massive portal opened. The energy seemed to be pulled in like a black hole, while the entire arch glowed green.

-VROOOOOM-

Ciri raised her gaze, stunned.

She had really done it.

The unicorn seemed satisfied, while Geralt and Yennefer watched with both surprise and a certain fear.

Ciri looked at the portal and turned her attention back to them.

"I guess I'm leaving now," she said with a small, sad smile.

Geralt seemed conflicted, but what could he say to her?

"There's nothing to be done about this, father. I must go... but don't worry, I will return," Ciri said, seeming to read his distress.

A tear fell from her eyes. "One day I will return."

"One day, Ciri... you're not just... going to come back immediately?" Yennefer seemed horrified.

"Sorry... but I feel that we won't see each other for some time. Just like I felt that I wouldn't see Aren..." she began to cry this time.

Yennefer hugged her. "You can't just go and come back..."

"I don't know... it's all confusing. But I feel that it's what I must do. And I also feel that I won't return anytime soon. I want you to stay with my son... protect him, but keep him hidden. Don't let anyone know about his existence," she said in tears.

"I will..." said Yennefer, holding the girl.

"Mother... father..." Ciri said, taking a few steps back and looking at the two of them.

"Don't worry. I may take a while... but the future says that our family will be reunited again at some point."

"Six minutes remain, child," said the unicorn.

Ciri looked at him. He nodded. She began to move away. "I must go... goodbye."

With those words, Ciri walked toward the portal, stopping before it. She felt the wind being pulled inside, sighed, and stepped in.

In the next moment, her body disappeared.

The portal began to close. The energy at the center faded, and the runes around it did as well, in a cascading effect.

-FSSSHHH-

"Now I will go as well... goodbye, humans." The unicorn said nothing more. It simply disappeared, leaving Geralt and Yennefer standing there, alone, as silence once again reigned in that place.
