Some claimed the war had already been lost when the Lord of Death appeared above their homeland and drowned half the sky beneath his shadow, while others pointed to the arrival of the Lord of Vainglory and the countless Mist Creatures that followed him through the ruptures spreading across space.
Yet those who survived long enough to witness Odin himself would eventually agree on something far simpler.
The war had truly begun the moment the Pale Devastation arrived.
