Chapter 141 - Meeting between god and mortal.

Please people we need power stones to top the TV genre charts, we are looking bad out there.

"So be it."

Omega beams angled around Darkseid and through Yuga Khan's head as Yuga Khan's body turned to ash and then nothingness, leaving behind a spiritual form of sorts that was fading fast.

Darkseid approached the spiritual form and grabbed it and swallowed it. His body shook violently for a few seconds and regained composure soon after two large horns grew on his headpiece. He had absorbed the remaining of his father essence and powers before the dissipated into nothingness.

"You… you killed him." Desaad said in a grave tone as he watched his master grow in power right before his very eyes.

"Ready the armada, we will leave immediately." Darkseid said emotionlessly as he sat on his throne and Desaad gave a small bow and left immediately.

'What will you think of this Metron? I would have summoned you, killed you if you were not going to join me in my quest for universal supremacy and claimed your Mobius chair as my trophy. Where are you now?' Darkseid thought to himself resting his stone chin on his adjoined hands.

"Fuck… so that was the last piece? This power… It's rather uncomfortable but near absolute. I think I will use this for that." Lex Luthor said sitting in a lotus position in the stratosphere, armed with new enlightenment.

'After various experiments after Bizzaro and perfecting the krptonian DNA with magic from that London sorcerer, I have evolved. In a normal state of affairs, if things weren't this rushed even given the time constraints of my plans, I wouldn't sully my humanity with the DNA of an alien let alone magic. But I have been exposed to visions ever since, a vision of me, of a different reality, solving a forbidden puzzle but at what risk?' Lex was absorbed in thought as he crouched in the air, his chin resting on his makeshift think pad–his folded fist.

'This puzzle… this equation… it's very glyphs are etched into my soul now, glowing as sign of completion, it's power waiting at my very whim to be used. But in that vision after using it, I don't know if I underwent apotheosis or eternal damnation trapped with the power and knowledge of the universe or…' Lex furrowed his eyebrows, his vision, microscopic now as he watched humans go about their very day in detail, it was all but a thinking trance, now interrupted by something.

"Humans… I see why father never approved of Prometheus giving 'them' the gift of fire." A voice echoed behind Lex Luthor.

Lex Luthor didn't need to turn as he couldn't sense anything but could tell it was something… someone from another dimension.

"And you are?" Lex turned to face a glowing being ten feet tall, he wore a decorated Corinthian helmet that the people of today would call a spartan helmet spotting a rich red plume of flowing fire, a red cape flowed behind him, his muscles rippled like a quiet storm, just waiting to be unleashed on someone or something like a rabid dog.

On his waist was a majestic gold and black Periskelis(a skirt-like armour worn by Spartans) that barely covered his powerful thighs and golden sandals with a long shin guard that had glowing purple and red rune carvings in them; the soles of his sandals smelled like the souls of the damned.

"You will address me as Ares, the god of war, mortal." Ares said cockily watching the clouds below him move by softly.

"And what does the god of war want from little old me?" Lex cocked a smile, feigning ignorance. He believed he too possessed the power of a god and there was little that could give him pause, especially after his recent discovery.

"This is why I hate smart asses… you think you know everything without even understanding the consequences of such knowledge. You and that… what does he even call himself again??? To be so incredibly smart and talented and yet chooses not to believe in the existence of gods, when there are gods amongst us?" Ares said with as thunder crackled. With that he immediately straightened up and narrowed his eyes.

"Come with me." Ares gestured and pulled his hand back as if pulling back a curtain out of thin air and drew two gold coins and dropped them. They fell and stopped their descent at his feet, dissolving into nothingness.

In a second chariot, pulled by four giant dark horses with flaming eyes and an undead for a coachman.

Ares looked to Lex for a surprised look but alas, found inquiring amusement. Lex had seen something like this before under the command of Arthur. What intrigued him was the currency system needed to summon these type of beasts that he could barely keep up with, given that it hasn't even been a week since he got adjusted to his new sense of self.

The carriage was adorned with Corinthian craftsmanship, darker than night as it looked like its form was rather gaseous than solid, exuding darkness perpetually. Finding only the inquiring expression of a scientist on Lex, Ares got over it immediately and proceeded toward the carriage as the door automatically opened itself, allowing entry into it's rather spacious interior compared to its exterior, now that's what put an "O" on Lex's face, eliciting a smile from the god of war. The interior was as wide as a two-bedroom apartment with a knob on the centre table or console that Ares used to adjust the space inside which intrigued Lex even more. The height inside was also big enough to house someone of his stature comfortably in.

The interior was lush with all the comforts of a modern luxurious vehicle, massaging and heated seats, a mini fridge that can pop up with simple gesture, a sick sound system, a large screen for entertainment or

"Don't make me wait now… I have endured father's punishment for years and I will wait no longer." Ares said as his eyes glowed with a fiery flame, declaring his growing impatience.

"Fine. I would like to study this… the nature of its spatial mechanism." Lex said with his hands behind his back as he flew into the carriage and the door slammed in on itself and opened itself in the next instant.

The environment was greyish dark with a few sources of light far out.

Ares smiled at Lex, gesturing the billionaire to step out. Lex adjusted his trench coat with a 'hmph' and flew out. Ares followed suit as the chariot was no more before them. The area was dark but not so dark that you couldn't see your hand. Ares's eyes and fiery plume glowed in the darkness until he waved his hand the surrounding space folded as they appeared in a well lit room with expensive sofas and at what looked to be the head of the room was a maple wood table highlights of the underworld, and its different colours poured through the window, unto the leather seat and maple wood desk.

Ares appeared before the seat and sat on it as he poured himself a drink from a jar on the desk.

Lex sighed to himself and moved to sit opposite him.

"Now that I am here. What have I done that the god of war has deemed it worthy that we may speak together." Lex said as he looked at Ares pour a drink for him, but Lex refused, choosing to not engage in any drink tonight.

"You have attained forbidden knowledge. Luckily, I am the one who found you first, Lex Luthor." Ares said as he leaned forward.

"You say you are Ares, the god of war? If you are from the Greek pantheon, shouldn't I be wary of you? I would prefer to converse with Athena instead." Lex said wearing his confident smile and gauging the reaction and movements of the god of war.
