"Now, who was so powerful that they made you bend the knee rather than die by their blade?" Yuga Khan asked as he gestured for Darkseid to join him as he took flight to leave the throne room.
Darkseid nodded to Desaad as he joined Yuga Khan in flight with his hand behind his back while Desaad with the aid of what looked like a mall cop's hoverboard, joined them but maintained a fairly respectable distance.
"She is known as the futa goddess with a powerful harem of goddesses that follow her…" Darkseid said as he squeezed his fists harder, making a tight folding sound. Yuga Khan noticed this and thought to wondered until he felt a certain connection to the title of the goddess his offspring just mentioned.
"What is it, father?" Darkseid stopped his flight as he noticed his father fall behind in pace.
"This… futa goddess… did… was her skin as pale as a grey stone?" Yuga Khan raised his head to ask.
"I only met her–her avatar, once, on a day I still dread even as I remember it when she looked over my planet. Her face filled the skies of Apokolips, inspecting her subject planet and soon dissipated into nothingness. Her skin looked rather pale indeed. She also had a red stone on her head as an ornament, I think." Darkseid said putting a hand on his chin his memory taking him back to a place he would rather forget.
As Darkseid described what Yuga Khan believed to be Raven his countenance paled, his confident posture took the form of one slouching. His eye widened as he tried to control the shaking in his hands and looked up to the Darkseid.
"No…" Darkseid said softly as he his eyes glowed and his stone face hardened.
"I can't believe I released that into the world again." Yuga Khan said, putting his hand on his head as he he slowly began laughing.
"What do you mean, release? Speak old man!" Darkseid as he grabbed the shoulder of his father his presence demanding more than just vague hints. Could it be that somehow, his father was in a position to hold or release the one who humiliated him without even turning up in person herself. Was it his ploy to remove him from power? He had questions, he needed answers now.
"Hahahahaha… haaaaaahahaha… we are all fuc–" Yuga Khan continued laughing until his son slapped him back to reality.
"Surely my father is not this weak willed. If you continue like this I will end this and it shall be final." Darkseid said as death stared Yuga Khan in the eyes in the form of Darkseid's halted Omega beams.
Yuga Khan slowly came back to after swimming in despair for a bit and sighed before looking his son in the eye, "The person that saved me from the source wall is also this futa goddess you speak of."
"Wait. You said you helped release her, how did that–"
"With or without my help, she would have broken free because of that old god." Yuga Khan said, his voice sounding grave as if reliving a painful experience. The only way he could describe Trigon and his power was that of an old god. His power felt ancient, domineering and a necessary concept in the universe like those of the old gods.
Darkseid's face softened as he withdrew his hand at the mention of an old god. Most of them were only memories now, the rebirth of one meant another force in this universe that could oppose his authority apart from the futa goddess who had already made him kneel.
"Who is this old god you speak of?" Darkseid asked as he prepared himself. He had read through ancient texts describing the old gods, their stories, tactics, and accomplishments in all their glory.
"I believe this one to be the father… no, the Progenitor of this futa goddess. He is a great demon, bearing the name of Tri… I fear speaking his name would evoke his presence upon this world, and I am afraid to, even with the two of us and all your army would prove a futile attempt against it." Yuga Khan said as touched his head, remembering what had happened to him not long ago.n
"My master, if I may, I have dire news." Desaad said, raising an arm, only daring to speak after both father and son shared a dreaded silence longer than a minute. He could taste Darkseid's wrath in the air and still pushed through for the next report he had to give his master.
"What could be more dire than the information father brings? I had just barely reached my peak and now all these monsters decided to start popping up one by one to challenge my authority. This… this is getting frustrating. This… (sighs)... Speak now, Desaad, lest I take my frustrations on you again." Darkseid said with low growl gliding past his father, his shoulder roughly grazing and pushing Yuga Khan out of his way. Yuga Khan showed no malice or retaliation.
"My master… I fear that the… the awakening of powerful entities recently does not stop at what the former ruler of Apokolips shared with us. The champion of darkness is upon us, my master." Desaad began and paused to gauge the reaction of his lord and found that Darkseid's shoulders relaxed at the title of 'former ruler' given to his father and saw it as a good point to keep his body from bodily harm.
"The champion of darkness…?" Darkseid asked, giving Desaad an opportunity to explain further.
"The lord of the black lanterns and commander of the undead. He has been razing worlds ablaze, raising powerful fallen warriors as part of his army of the undead. He has left multiple tears in space in his wake as I have mentioned before–" Desaad said as Darkseid massaged his temples, his hard stone face forming creases as he moved till his back was facing Desaad and Yuga Khan, keeping his expression to himself.
"So he is also the one who destroyed a third of my vassal worlds? Everyone has been looking down on me lately… I hate been looked down on. This… this is humiliating. I will suffer this no longer. Maybe it is time to fight fire with fire." Darkseid said as he raised his head to look at the stars above.
"It's time to set things right. Desaad." Darkseid said as he moved forward his form overlooking the terrain of Apokolips, his shadow swimming through the earth as he glided too smoothly and calmly towards his throne room.
"Anti-life is found Desaad, and we will stop at nothing to obtain it, even if it goes against her wishes. As of now, I will fight back." Darkseid said, but Yuga Khan stopped following causing the party of three to halt.
"Do you have anything to say?" Darkseid asked without looking back, clearly speaking to his father.
"Going against her is foolishness son. The universe is in chaos now. Stay your anger and wait for this to pass." Yuga Khan advised, looking back on the fractured futa goddess who was already powerful enough to overpower him by mere presence alone and had already assimilated the fatherbox completely with no trace of corruption
"Is that your stance on my decision?" Darkseid asked again, once more his back facing Yuga Khan as if not even trying to grant his father any accolade of respect.
"...."
"So be it."
Omega beams angled around Darkseid and through Yuga Khan's head as Yuga Khan's body turned to ash and then nothingness, leaving behind a spiritual form of sorts that was fading fast.
Darkseid approached the spiritual form and grabbed it and swallowed it. His body shook violently for a few seconds and regained composure soon after two large horns grew on his headpiece. He had absorbed the remaining of his father essence and powers before the dissipated into nothingness.
And the plot thiccens...
