Dust continued to pour down the factory as from the ruins came as the colossal Legendary Pokémon fully emerged from its ancient resting place.
It stood nearly four meters tall, its enormous white body covered with patches of moss that had gathered over countless years of sleep.
The seven glowing orbs on its face slowly lit up one after another, shining in different colors like strange Christmas lights. The ancient giant lowered its head and fixed all seven lights upon Gladion.
For a brief moment, neither side moved. Far behind Gladion, Cynthia, Champion Rowan, Sabrina, and the Sinnoh officers had finally reached the edge of the valley. None of them dared to interfere.
They understood that they were witnessing something that very few people in history had ever seen. A fully awakened Regigigas. Someone who was at the upper hand of legendary power.
Gladion slowly exhaled. "This just keeps getting better." His expression remained calm, but his eyes had become serious.
Without wasting another second, five Poké Balls flew into the air. "Come out!"
Five flashes of light erupted almost simultaneously. The first flash revealed Colossus, his enormous Alpha Tyranitar.
The second flash released Latios. The third flash revealed Latias. The graceful red dragon floated beside her counterpart.
The fourth flash was his Rhyperior. The fifth flash became Guy. The Machamp landed heavily upon the battlefield. His four muscular arms tightened as he looked up at the towering opponent before him.
Unlike many Pokemon, Guy did not look frightened at the sight of the legendary. Instead... He smiled. Ultron was already floating beside Gladion. Six powerful Pokemon now stood before one legendary titan.
Regigigas slowly looked across each of them. It showed no fear. No excitement. Only the calm expression of an ancient being that had existed long before modern civilization.
Gladion stared at the giant. His mind remembered the countless stories he had read about the Pokemon.
'There is an enduring legend that states this Pokémon towed continents with ropes. According to legend, Regigigas pulled landmasses together and bound them with rope to create the continent of Hisui. Though I have my doubts, the story could well contain a shred of truth. All over the world, there are also legends that tell of Regigigas creating other Pokémon in its own image.'
The stories had always sounded impossible. Ridiculous even. Yet now... Standing before the Legendary itself... Gladion found himself questioning those doubts.
The aura surrounding Regigigas was unlike anything he had ever experienced. Moltres, Zapdos, Latios, Latias, Deoxys, he had faced all of their legendary auras. But Regigigas aura was a tad above them.
He smiled slightly. "So this is what the old stories were talking about."
"Ultron!" The silver Metagross immediately responded. "Use Psychic!"
Ultron's eyes glowed bright blue as an overwhelming wave of psychic power rushed toward Regigigas.
Massive chunks of broken stone rose into the air before being launched like enormous cannonballs.
At the same moment, Latios and Latias attacked together.
"Dragon Pulse!"
Twin beams of dragon energy shot through the sky. The rest of his Pokemon remained beside Gladion, waiting.
Regigigas calmly watched every attack approach. Then one of his arm slowly moved. It looked almost lazy.
The giant's fist struck the incoming dragon pulses created by the legendary Eon duo. At the same time, its body endured the rocks with barely a step backward. The ground shattered beneath Regigigas.
Yet the Legendary barely moved. Far away, Cynthia's eyes widened. "It barely reacted."
Champion Rowan nodded slowly. "This is the ruler of the legendary golem pokemon." His voice carried both respect and concern. "It was never going to fall easily."
Gladion narrowed his eyes. "As expected." He immediately began issuing new commands.
"Latios, Luster Purge!"
"Latias, Mist Ball!"
"Ultron, Flash Cannon!"
Three powerful attacks launched almost together. The brilliant beam from Ultron struck first, exploding against Regigigas's chest. Mist Ball followed immediately afterward, covering the giant in shimmering psychic mist
. Finally, Latios's Luster Purge crashed directly into its head with incredible force. For the first time... Regigigas actually took half a step backward.
The surrounding mountain shook. A small smile appeared on Gladion's face. "We can move it." Regigigas slowly lifted its head. The colored lights on its face glowed brighter. Then it disappeared.
Everyone watching gasped. Despite its enormous size, Regigigas moved with frightening speed.
It appeared directly before Latias and used Hammer Arm. The giant fist descended like a falling mountain.
Latias immediately reacted. A powerful psychic shield formed around her elegant body.
Then... Boom! Hammer Arm struck. The psychic shield shattered instantly. The barrier broke apart into countless fragments of light before disappearing completely.
The tremendous force threw Latias backward across the sky. She cried out as she was launched hundreds of meters away before finally regaining control of her flight.
Gladion's eyes widened slightly. "It broke her psychic shield..." He stared at Regigigas. It was the first time he had seen someone manage to hurt the legendary Latias.
His expression became even more serious. Regigigas was stronger than he had expected. Much stronger.
Latios immediately flew toward Latias. He circled around her protectively. Latias steadied herself.
Although she was not seriously injured, the single blow had clearly hurt. She looked toward Regigigas with new caution.
Gladion quickly analyzed the battlefield. Speed alone would not win. Raw power alone would not win either. They needed someone capable of enduring those terrifying attacks.
His eyes slowly shifted toward Colossus. The Alpha Tyranitar had remained patient throughout the battle.
Gladion smiled. "We are going to have you tank, buddy, Colossus." The giant Tyranitar roared proudly.
Gladion raised his Mega Stone. Blue energy immediately surrounded both trainer and Pokemon. The Keystone around Gladion's wrist resonated brightly.
The Tyranitarite held by Colossus answered the call. Brilliant light engulfed the Alpha Tyranitar.
Several Sinnoh officers looked in shock. "What is happening?"
Cynthia smiled. "So this is Mega Evolution." The light continued growing brighter. Colossus roared as his body expanded.
His muscles became even larger. Massive spikes burst from his back and shoulders. His already intimidating appearance transformed into something even more monstrous. The light finally disappeared.
Standing before Regigigas now was Mega Colossus. The Alpha Tyranitar had Mega Evolved. A powerful sandstorm instantly erupted around the battlefield. The wind howled across the valley as countless grains of sand swirled around the Mega Tyranitar.
Mega Colossus looked directly into Regigigas's glowing eyes. Neither giant stepped backward. Neither looked away.
Gladion pointed forward. "Stone Edge!" Massive pillars of sharpened stone erupted from the ground beneath Regigigas.
The Legendary responded immediately. Its enormous fists smashed through several stone pillars, but others struck its legs and shoulders with tremendous force. The attacks forced the giant back another step.
At the same moment, Guy rushed in from the side.
"Close Combat!"
The Machamp unleashed a relentless barrage of punches, each one backed by incredible strength. Although many blows landed, Regigigas responded with another massive swing of its arm, forcing Guy to retreat before he could be crushed.
Ultron immediately supported him. "Psychic!" Invisible force surrounded Regigigas's legs, slowing its movements for only a brief moment. That brief opening was enough.
Latios and Latias descended together. Twin Dragon Pulses exploded against the Legendary's chest while Mega Colossus charged directly through the sandstorm.
The enormous Tyranitar slammed his shoulder into Regigigas with all of his weight. The impact echoed throughout the valley. Two giants pushed against each other. The ground beneath them cracked but neither seemed to give an inch to other.
