Chapter 738: A Desperate Situation, Turning the Tide

Boundless black miasma flooded the space, radiating a suffocating aura of annihilation that made every Earth Sovereign present grimace in dismay.

None of these supreme leaders of the Bloodrock Realm had imagined that the greatest danger would come from the one among them who was always silent and unremarkable—the Ice Pavilion Lord.

It turned out his purpose in entering this Earth Sovereign's secret realm was not merely to seize the Divine Spirit Liquid. He had come seeking the remnant power of the Frost Demon Emperor, the being once sealed here by the Thunder Saint himself.

That demon emperor, an existence from the same era and level as the Thunder Saint, possessed power that had once reached Earth Sovereign Perfection. Even borrowing only a fragment of that strength, the Ice Pavilion Lord now stood almost equal to an Upper Earth Sovereign.

"What cunning treachery," the Snow Valley Mistress hissed through gritted teeth, her tone cold and sharp.

"You're mad, Ice Pavilion Lord. This alien power from beyond the realms—it's incompatible with our world! To borrow it for ascension will only condemn you to ruin later!"

Though the Frost Demon Emperor had long been destroyed, that corrupt energy did not belong to the Great Thousand World. Even if he suppressed it for now, it would surely leave behind fatal consequences.

But the Ice Pavilion Lord only sneered. "Nothing in this world comes without a price," he said softly. "And this price is one I can bear."

"When I gain the inheritance of the Ancient Celestial Palace," he continued, "I will rise as ruler of the Tianluo Continent. The Ice Pavilion will ascend among the super forces of the Great Thousand World."

"What grand delusion," scoffed the Blood Shark Lord. "You truly think yourself capable of conquering the entire Tianluo Continent?"

The Tianluo Continent was one of the Great Thousand World's greatest realms, rich in vast resources and ancient legacies. To dominate it was to step into near‑divinity itself—far beyond the reach of any normal Earth Sovereign.

Unless the Ice Pavilion Lord advanced to Heaven Sovereign, his words were nothing but dreams.

"Wait—Ancient Celestial Palace?" Mo Yu's eyes flashed with sudden intensity.

The meaning behind the Ice Pavilion Lord's words was unmistakable—he knew the truth of the continent's deepest secret: the Ancient Celestial Palace that had remained hidden for endless ages.

That legendary power from the primordial era had once housed countless strong cultivators, even beings who had reached the rank of Heaven Sovereign.

Mo Yu recalled that one day in the future, a fated genius named Mu Chen would inherit the Celestial Palace's legacy from the Heavenly Emperor himself and begin his own rise.

But Mo Yu felt no greed. He had already chosen his own path—the way of thunder—and he would not stray.

"You actually know about the Ancient Celestial Palace?" asked Feng Yuanzi, his aged eyes narrowing with thought.

The Ice Pavilion Lord gave a faint smile and did not confirm or deny it. His blackened eyes, gleaming with unnatural light, turned toward the remaining Earth Sovereigns. "Tell me," he said quietly, "do you still think I am unqualified to lead the Bloodrock Realm?"

A pregnant silence blanketed the air. None dared speak; even the Beast and Barbarian masters looked pale. The balance had shifted entirely beyond expectation.

Eventually, Feng Yuanzi and the Snow Valley Mistress exchanged glances—and then their eyes turned toward Mo Yu. At this point, only he held the power to challenge the corrupted Ice Pavilion Lord.

After all, rumor said that even Blood Lingzi—the Blood God Clan's Patriarch and an Upper Earth Sovereign—had fallen at Mo Yu's hands.

"Lord Thunder Emperor," Feng Yuanzi said solemnly, bowing slightly. "The power of the Outer Evil is the enemy of all creation within our Great Thousand World. You alone can stop him."

The Snow Valley Mistress nodded, her eyes glimmering. "If you can destroy this traitor and spare our realm, the Snow Valley will be forever indebted."

Mo Yu blinked, raising an eyebrow. "Oh? So you've figured out who I am?"

The Feng Emperor, standing beside him, chuckled softly. "Seems word travels fast. The Tianluo Continent may be far from the Western Heaven, but news of the Blood God Clan's humiliation spreads quickly. Their name is known across the realms."

"The… Thunder Emperor?" murmured Zhong Cang and several others, startled. The title alone made their eyes widen. They glanced toward Feng Yuanzi with disbelief. "You know him?"

"Hehe," Feng Yuanzi smiled, "only by reputation. The Thunder Emperor is a newly risen power of our age. His feats are already whispered throughout the Great Thousand World."

Seeing Mo Yu's silence, he elaborated further for the others.

"Captured the Blood God Patriarch alive," he said clearly, "and extorted one hundred million Sovereign Spirit Liquids from the Blood God Clan itself."

"What?!" Zhong Cang's face went white; even Ao Sha staggered backward in shock.

To think that a Lower Earth Sovereign had defeated an Upper one, then robbed a divine clan of such fortune—it sounded beyond belief.

"The most shocking part," Feng Yuanzi added with admiration, "is that he comes from a lower plane."

Born in poverty, Mo Yu had shattered every law of the heavens to seize strength rivaling the Great Thousand World's elite. His rise was proof of defiance itself.

Zhong Cang and Ao Sha traded uneasy glances; cold sweat trickled down their backs. Now they understood why their fight with him had ended so quickly. They had provoked a monster.

"Haha, so… that is who you are," drawled the Ice Pavilion Lord. Black mist writhed about his form as he looked at Mo Yu with mild amusement. "In that case, I won't claim your perfect‑grade Spirit Liquid for myself."

He smiled as if in friendship. "Instead, I propose an alliance. Join me. Together we can unify the Bloodrock Realm, carve dominion over the North, and one day open the treasury of the Ancient Celestial Palace itself. What say you, Thunder Emperor Mo Yu?"

It was cunningly spoken—an offer made out of fear disguised as opportunity. He would recruit Mo Yu first, then find a time to destroy him later.

To the Ice Pavilion Lord, Mo Yu was far too dangerous to face as an enemy. Better to keep the tiger beside him—and strike when the moment came.

But Feng Yuanzi's face paled instantly. Even one Ice Pavilion Lord was disastrous enough. If Mo Yu accepted, none of them would survive.

He grit his teeth and shouted, "Any who consort with the Outer Evils deserve only death!"

His words were both condemnation and a warning to Mo Yu—the power of the Outer Evil was a curse. No one who touched it escaped ruin. He hoped Mo Yu, being wise, understood not to betray the world for temptation.

At this, the Ice Pavilion Lord's expression darkened. "Then your Dao Palace shall be the first to vanish beneath my rule."

His killing intent spread out like frost. Even the surrounding air seemed to ice over, while the Sovereigns tensed, their instincts screaming danger.

"Let's see," Feng Yuanzi said quietly, summoning his power, "how strong the power of corruption truly is."

A maelstrom of spiritual might exploded from his aged body as he lunged forward, determined to fight.

"Heh. Another ant seeking death," murmured the Ice Pavilion Lord. His tone stayed calm, his gaze cold. "If the Dao Palace bars my rise, then it shall be erased."

He waved his sleeve, and waves of black energy poured outward. The world grew dim; even the light itself was corroded. The very essence of heaven and earth began to taint, filling the air with alien corruption.

The nearby Earth Sovereigns tried to manipulate the ambient spiritual energy—but found it resisted their control. The corrupted power had replaced it.

"Damn it…" Feng Yuanzi grimaced. "He's tainting the very rules of this domain."

Realizing the danger, the Snow Valley Mistress called out, "Everyone, attack together! Break open the space and retreat! If we can escape and spread word, all the Great Thousand World will move against him!"

Her logic pierced through the fear. Once news of a being wielding Outer Evil power spread, countless factions would descend to exterminate him. Even superpowers outside the Bloodrock Realm would not stand idle.

"Attack!"

The other faction leaders roared in agreement. Spiritual light flooded outward, crashing desperately against the rolling black mists.

But their power barely scattered it. The darkness recoiled—only to surge forward again, stronger and hungrier than before.

"Futile," came the Ice Pavilion Lord's chilling voice. "With the Frost Demon Emperor's legacy, I stand as an Upper Earth Sovereign. None of you can stand before me."

He spread his arms, laughing softly as the corrupted skies trembled.

Then his hand lifted—fingers clawing through the air—as a monstrous demonic hand, vast as the heavens, took form. It flashed forward, streaking toward Feng Yuanzi.

The sheer pressure nearly halted the air itself. Death shadowed over the Dao Palace Master's heart.

Boom!

Lightning flared.

A streak of silver thunder split through the blackness as Mo Yu raised a single finger toward the heavens.

A colossal bolt—transformed into a glowing finger of lightning thousands of feet long—descended against the demonic hand.

Its surface was layered with crystalline thunder, glowing gold beneath molten white. Each pulse made the sky quiver—but the space beneath it began collapsing in raw power.

Shocked by Mo Yu's sudden intervention, the Ice Pavilion Lord turned sharply. Snarling, he abandoned his strike on Feng Yuanzi and redirected his claw, pressing downward against the new attack.

Boom!

The two forces collided. Dark corruption met pure thunder, and the world convulsed.

A devastating explosion tore across heaven and earth. Space shattered into ribbons; even the fragments of energy that leaked outward would have wiped out legions of Sovereigns.

The entire grand hall collapsed beneath the clash. Hundreds of miles of space unraveled into void.

When the thunder faded, Mo Yu stood untouched amid the ruins. His silver eyes gleamed coldly as he stared at the Ice Pavilion Lord.

"Your offer doesn't interest me," he said softly. "And your corruption—I despise it."

His voice turned to iron. "So do me a favor… and die."
