Chapter 700: Chaotic Situation: The Blood God Clan

After learning that the Wind Emperor's revival would require traveling to Tianluo Continent, one of the top ten supercontinents in the Great Thousand World, Mo Yu made a note of it, planning to explore further once he broke through to the Earth Supreme level.

For now, however, he decided to stay with the Yuchang family convoy to gather some useful information first. Over the next few days, apart from minor incidents, nothing significant slowed down their journey, and the destination, Xiongbing City, grew closer.

During these days, Mo Yu's strength steadily recovered to about 70-80%, and the injuries he had sustained were healing rapidly thanks to the combination of spirit power and medicinal pills. Judging by his progress, it seemed that with the right opportunity, he might soon attempt to break through to the Earth Supreme level.

Even though he was recovering his strength, Mo Yu still chose not to reveal his full power. After all, he wasn't someone who enjoyed being in the spotlight.

With Mo Yu's current abilities, it was easy for him to conceal his aura, so even Yuchang Ran would likely struggle to sense anything unusual about him. However, despite how well he hid his power, he noticed that Yuchang Ran's attitude toward him had become more considerate over the past few days.

Tasks around the convoy were no longer assigned to him after she issued orders, sparing him from manual labor. Mo Yu picked up on this special treatment. It seemed like Yuchang Ran had some suspicion about him, possibly due to a woman's keen intuition. Though he was confident he hadn't exposed anything, Yuchang Ran's occasional glances at him carried faint traces of doubt and contemplation.

Whenever Yuchang Ran had free time, she would often appear near Mo Yu, casually starting conversations that were subtly probing into his background and identity. Of course, with Mo Yu's experience and skills, it was impossible for him to let anything slip. His responses were always vague yet convincing, leaving Yuchang Ran frustrated, as if her efforts were hitting a wall.

The journey continued swiftly, with Yuchang Ran's probing and speculation growing more frequent. On the fifth day of camping, a mechanized bird bearing the Yuchang family's emblem flew in from Xiongbing City.

Yuchang Ran received the message from one of the guards and opened the letter. As she scanned it, her delicate face slowly turned cold, and a flash of anger flickered in her eyes.

Seeing her reaction, the once-lively camp fell into silence, and everyone stood up, looking at Yuchang Ran.

"Miss, what happened?" one of the Yuchang family guards asked seriously.

"It's a letter from the main family. It says that the Gongsun family is planning to make a move against us. We need to be cautious," Yuchang Ran replied, her voice icy as she clenched the letter tightly.

"The Gongsun family again? Damn those bastards!" The mention of the Gongsun family sparked a wave of curses from the guards. After all, just a few days ago, they had narrowly escaped being slaughtered by the Gongsun family's mechanized beasts, saved only by a mysterious benefactor.

"What are they up to this time?" the head guard asked, frowning.

Yuchang Ran's face remained cold as she spoke. "The Gongsun family wants our Yuchang family's Tianxuan Treasure Hall and our core weapon blueprints. They also want us to declare ourselves as their vassals. But their true goal is to absorb our Yuchang family and become the dominant force on the Wanbing Continent."

Her words darkened the expressions of everyone in the convoy. The outrageous demands from the Gongsun family infuriated them.

"Damn it! Do they think our Yuchang family is some pushover they can bully? How dare they make such ridiculous demands!" one of the guards shouted angrily.

Though her companions were enraged, Yuchang Ran's face remained emotionless. Her eyes drifted to the silver-eyed young man sitting by the campfire, casually talking to Yuchang Guan'er. He didn't seem to hear any of the discussion, completely absorbed in his conversation.

After a moment, Yuchang Ran turned her gaze away, her voice cold as she said, "We'll enter Xiongbing City territory tomorrow. Be on high alert."

"Yes, ma'am!"

The group responded in unison before Yuchang Ran gave Mo Yu another brief glance and then returned to her tent.

As her figure disappeared, the group slowly sat back around the fire. The flames flickered over their faces, reflecting the weight of the Gongsun family's threat that hung over them like a dark cloud.

"Guan'er, is the Gongsun family really that strong?" Mo Yu asked as he stretched lazily, breaking the tense silence.

"At one time, our Yuchang family was the strongest family on the Wanbing Continent," Yuchang Guan'er began, her expression somber. "But decades ago, the former young lord of the main family, while playing around, took our ancestral treasure, the Tianxuan Treasure Hall, and went to a foreign land. Unfortunately, he died there, and the treasure was lost.

"The Tianxuan Treasure Hall is a relic passed down by our ancestors. It not only forges weapons on its own, but it's also equivalent to a master of heavenly-grade weapons. Without it, we lost our strongest asset. Our external business dealings suffered, and the family's influence weakened.

"Moreover, the main family only had that one son, and with his death, there was no heir. The family factions began to fight amongst themselves for control, weakening us further. Over time, the Gongsun family grew in power and overtook us. I've heard that the Gongsun family leader's daughter was taken as a concubine by an elder of the Blood God Clan, one of the four great clans of the Western Sky World.

"Because of their connection to the Blood God Clan, the Gongsun family has grown even bolder."

Yuchang Guan'er sighed, her young face reflecting the burdens her family faced. "My father said that the Gongsun family owes much of their rise to the backing of the Blood God Clan. In the Western Sky World, the Blood God Clan is one of the top four great clans. Compared to them, our Yuchang family is much weaker."

"The Blood God Clan?" Mo Yu's eyes flashed with surprise upon hearing this familiar name. He hadn't expected to hear about the four great clans of the Western Sky World so soon.

From what Mo Yu knew, these four great clans were the rulers of the Western Sky World, with countless other forces dependent on them. They were like kings.

The four great clans had ruled the Western Sky World for thousands of years, with countless rivalries and blood feuds between them. At one point, the Luo God Clan had been the most powerful of the four, dominating the others. But over time, the Luo God Clan declined, allowing the other three to rise.

"Mo Yu, be cautious," the Wind Emperor's voice echoed in Mo Yu's mind. "I didn't expect the forces here to be tied to the Blood God Clan. If I remember correctly, the Blood God Clan is incredibly powerful. Their current leader is a high-level Earth Supreme, and their clan boasts many Earth Supremes. If they send someone from the Blood God Clan after you, you won't be able to handle it at your current strength."

Hearing the Wind Emperor's warning, Mo Yu's expression grew serious. He had heard of the Blood God Clan's power, and until he broke through to the Earth Supreme level, it would be wise to avoid provoking such forces.

"Everyone should rest early. Double the guards for tonight, and be extra cautious tomorrow. Once we're inside the main family's territory, we should be safe," the head guard called out, standing up and waving his hand. He left, and the rest of the group sat by the fire, frustration and tension evident on their faces.

Yuchang Guan'er glanced at Mo Yu, hesitant. "Brother Mo Yu, I'm afraid the conflict between the Gongsun family and our Yuchang family won't end easily. Once we reach Xiongbing City, it's probably best if you find a chance to leave. I wouldn't want you to get caught up in this."

Though she knew Mo Yu was strong, Yuchang Guan'er didn't believe his strength would be enough to surpass the Gongsun family. She didn't want him to get involved in their dangerous struggle.

After speaking, she added more wood to the fire and quietly left.

Mo Yu watched her retreating figure, sighed softly, and muttered, "Such a kind-hearted girl…"

He dusted off his hands, stood up, and said goodnight to the others before returning to his carriage. As he settled down inside, he thought about Yuchang Guan'er's mention of the Blood God Clan, whispering to himself, "It looks like I need to break through to the Earth Supreme level soon…"

Under the scorching sun, the sky was clear, and the temperature was rising. Even the trees lining the road seemed to droop in the heat.

On the wide road, the convoy galloped ahead, kicking up a cloud of dust in their wake.

"Everyone, be on alert! We're about to enter Xiongbing City territory!" a voice called out from the convoy. The group tensed up, their hands instinctively reaching for their weapons as they spotted a road sign in the distance.

As the convoy charged forward like a herd of wild beasts, they passed the signpost in a matter of minutes.

Suddenly, the sharp whistling of arrows filled the air. From both sides of the road, a rain of arrows shot out from the trees, enveloping the convoy.

The surprise attack shocked the group, but they were prepared. Spiritual energy flared as they deflected the arrows.

"Heh, looks like you were ready for us. Too bad…" A voice echoed from the trees as a large group of shadowy figures emerged, blocking the road to Xiongbing City. What drew the most attention were the two elderly men at the front of the group.

Both were dressed in black robes, each bearing the same dark emblem on their chests.

"They're from the Gongsun family."

Seeing the black emblem, the Yuchang family members' eyes narrowed.

"Yuchang Ran, come out! You may have escaped last time, but this time, you won't be so lucky," a familiar voice called out. From behind the two elders, Gongsun Zan, the man they had encountered before, stepped forward with a smirk, his eyes locked on Yuchang Ran's carriage.

The carriage door slowly opened, and Yuchang Ran stepped out, her face cold as she glared at Gongsun Zan.

"Heh, I didn't expect Gongsun Zan to admit to the previous attack. You've gone to great lengths just to deal with a weak woman like me. I'm truly honored," Yuchang Ran said with a cold laugh.

While she spoke, her heart grew heavier. It wasn't Gongsun Zan that worried her, but the two elders from the Gongsun family who accompanied him. Their strength was likely at the Five Earth Supreme level, far stronger than the mechanized snake they had faced before. The Gongsun family had clearly come prepared after their last encounter with the mysterious savior.

"There's no need for words," Gongsun Zan sneered, his gaze briefly lingering on Yuchang Ran's figure. "Until your family agrees to my father's terms, you won't be entering Xiongbing City."

"Never!"

Yuchang Ran's eyes flashed with cold light as she drew her sword.

"Foolish girl," one of the Gongsun family elders muttered. With a single step, he appeared in front of her, his palm sweeping out with overwhelming force, blocking all of her escape routes.

Yuchang Ran bit her lip, despair filling her heart. She had no chance against a Five Earth Supreme.

Just as the elder's strike was about to land, a spiritual energy arrow shot out of nowhere, breaking the elder's attack and forcing him back a few steps.

"Gongsun family! Don't you dare bully my Yuchang family! Do you think we have no one to defend us in Xiongbing City?"

A loud, commanding voice rang out, shaking the sky.

The Yuchang family reinforcements had arrived...
