Chapter 619: Meeting Lei Fei'er Again, Yao Wangui
"Now, let's quietly wait for the right moment to enter the space and see if we can subdue the Purifying Lotus Demon Flame." Mo Yu raised his head, his gaze fixed on the distorted sky in the distance.
Waves of intense heat constantly spread from the fractured space, and the frequency of the milky white light appearing increased. Gradually, the desert below began to thicken and become viscous, with the sand slowly melting.
As the desert transformed into something resembling magma, the sound of rushing wind became more frequent. More and more powerful individuals were being drawn to this area by the unusual phenomena.
Within just half an hour, the sky above was crowded with figures, and many formidable presences had gathered.
Amidst this waiting, two more ancient clans arrived—the Lei Clan and the Shi Clan.
Among the Lei Clan's arrivals was someone Mo Yu was very familiar with—his fiancée, Lei Fei'er, the princess of the Lei Clan.
"Husband!"
Lei Fei'er noticed Mo Yu right away. She was dressed in a black lace dress, and when she saw him, a heartwarming smile appeared on her usually cold and elegant face. Her long, flowing black hair was tied with a purple ribbon, cascading like a waterfall down her slender waist. Her black lace dress revealed her long, straight, and snow-white legs, making her look ethereal and otherworldly.
Beside Fei'er were two others. One was Lei Yin, a familiar face and a talented individual who had once been defeated by Mo Yu. The other was a middle-aged man in a black robe, unfamiliar to Mo Yu. His expression was stern, and the aura he unintentionally released was so powerful that it sent chills down one's spine.
As Fei'er and her companions appeared, they immediately attracted many gazes, and whispers spread among the surrounding crowd. Those who gathered here were no ordinary individuals or forces, and they naturally knew the strength of the Lei Clan, though it wasn't as powerful as the Soul Clan or Gu Clan, it was still formidable.
"Oh, the Lei Clan has arrived. It seems that boy's forces are getting stronger," the Soul Hall Vice Master muttered under his breath when Fei'er and her group appeared.
Mo Yu, being the divine-bloodline heir of the Lei Clan and the Lord of Yuanfu, already held significant influence in the Central Plains, much like how the Soul Hall operated for the Soul Clan.
Though the higher-ups of the Soul Hall had suspected that Yuanfu's growth was due to support from the Lei Clan, further investigation revealed that Mo Yu had built Yuanfu from the ground up, without any direct assistance from the Lei Clan. This realization made even the Soul Hall Master view Mo Yu with more respect. The Soul Hall had put in considerable effort in the shadows, while Mo Yu, as a young man, had single-handedly built Yuanfu to the point of rivaling the Soul Hall. Such a feat was astonishing.
The Soul Hall Master's gaze lingered on Mo Yu for a moment before settling on the middle-aged man next to Fei'er. A flash of surprise crossed his eyes as he softly said, "Lei Jizhou… I didn't expect the Lei Clan to send him this time."
"Lei Jizhou may be strong, but with your abilities, Master, it shouldn't be difficult to hold him off," Soul Feng said, his eyes slightly raised. "Our ancient clans have an agreement—those who have reached the five-star Dou Saint level or above cannot easily take action. And Master happens to be at this boundary. Few can match you."
"The powerful figures may not have shown themselves yet, but they are certainly watching this place," the Soul Hall Master said with a faint smile, glancing up at the void, as if sensing the presence of others lurking in the empty space.
"Husband, you've finally become a Dou Saint."
Fei'er stood before Mo Yu, her once cold and noble face now brimming with a warm smile. As Lei Yin and the black-robed man, Lei Jizhou, watched her from the side, they couldn't help but be taken aback. They had never seen Fei'er act this way back in the Lei Clan.
Seeing Fei'er, Mo Yu smiled. Though they hadn't seen each other in years, their feelings for each other had only grown deeper and more intense. Stepping forward, Mo Yu gently held Fei'er's hand and pulled her into his arms without caring about the eyes on them.
Fei'er smiled softly and did not resist, leaning into Mo Yu's embrace like a gentle woman. For someone as proud as Lei Fei'er, Mo Yu was likely the only man she would willingly submit to.
"Ahem, you two should be mindful of your surroundings," Zi Yan said, clearing her throat and smirking. Despite Fei'er's noble status, Zi Yan was the Dragon Emperor of the Ancient Void Dragon Clan, equal in rank to the Lei Clan's leader, so she didn't hold back.
Hearing Zi Yan's comment, Fei'er blushed slightly but quickly composed herself. She gently slipped out of Mo Yu's embrace, turning to Zi Yan with a curious expression. "Who is this?"
Mo Yu quickly introduced Zi Yan, explaining her status.
When Fei'er learned that Zi Yan was the current Dragon Emperor of the Ancient Void Dragon Clan, even Lei Jizhou, the black-robed elder, showed a trace of surprise in his eyes. The Ancient Void Dragon Clan was a power even stronger than the Lei Clan. Though their influence had waned after the disappearance of the previous Dragon Emperor, as long as the Dragon Emperor's bloodline existed, the Void Dragons remained one of the continent's strongest forces.
Fei'er's gaze lingered on Zi Yan for a few seconds, a strange emotion flickering in her eyes. From Zi Yan's earlier attitude, it was clear that she had developed feelings for Mo Yu.
Fei'er wasn't too surprised by this. Mo Yu's outstanding qualities were obvious, and it wasn't shocking that even a Dragon Emperor would be drawn to him. What did slightly unsettle Fei'er, however, was that she had always considered herself to have the highest status among Mo Yu's women, given her position as the princess of the Lei Clan. But with Zi Yan, the Dragon Emperor, around, that advantage seemed to have diminished.
Still, Fei'er knew that Mo Yu didn't care about such things. He wasn't the type to be swayed by rank or status. Feeling reassured, Fei'er nodded slightly at Zi Yan before turning to Uncle Snake, bowing respectfully. "This must be Senior Snake?"
Fei'er was well aware of the deep bond between Mo Yu and Uncle Snake, so she treated him with great respect.
"Haha, Mo Yu often talks about you, and Yuer misses you as well," Uncle Snake said, smiling warmly as he raised his hands to acknowledge her bow.
After exchanging pleasantries with Uncle Snake, Fei'er introduced the black-robed man standing behind her. "Husband, this is Elder Lei Jizhou from the Lei Clan. He came with me to investigate the Purifying Lotus Demon Flame."
Mo Yu greeted Lei Jizhou respectfully, "It's an honor to meet you, Elder Lei Jizhou."
Lei Jizhou's strength was greater than that of the North Dragon King Mo Yu had encountered before, likely at the level of a four-star Dou Saint, making him a formidable force.
"Mo Yu, as the divine-bloodline heir of the Lei Clan, you should visit the Thunder Realm more often when you're free," Lei Jizhou said, his tone calm and not as stern as his appearance suggested.
Understanding the concerns of the Lei Clan's upper echelon about his loyalty, Mo Yu nodded and replied, "I will. When I have time, I'll be sure to visit Fei'er often."
Hearing this, Fei'er smiled, her beauty rivaling even Xun'er's nearby.
"Lei Jizhou, I didn't expect to see you here," a voice suddenly called out. It was Gu Nanhai, a powerful elder from the Gu Clan who had arrived with Xun'er. Although he and Lei Jizhou didn't know each other well, they were both prominent figures in their respective clans.
"If you're here, why wouldn't I be? Recently, the Soul Hall has been preparing to target Fei'er's husband, so the Clan Leader sent me to keep an eye on things," Lei Jizhou said, his voice calm but with an underlying sense of distance.
The destruction of the Ling Clan was widely believed to be the work of either the Soul Clan or the Gu Clan. Only those two had the power to wipe out an ancient clan without anyone noticing.
While the Soul Clan was the primary suspect, it wasn't entirely impossible that the Gu Clan had a hand in it. As a result, other ancient clans, like the Lei Clan and Yan Clan, harbored a subtle wariness toward the Gu Clan.
Mo Yu noticed the tension between the two but didn't intervene. Now wasn't the time to clear up such misunderstandings.
"It's likely the Soul Clan is behind it," Xun'er said, glancing at the Soul Hall Master's group with anger. "Their goal is to make the ancient clans suspicious of one another, preventing us from uniting."
Xiao Yan, standing beside her, nodded in agreement, his hatred for the Soul Clan deeply rooted in his heart.
"Sorry, Xun'er. I also believe the Soul Clan is to blame. Unfortunately, I can't control Lei Jizhou's attitude…" Mo Yu said with a helpless smile.
Xun'er shook her head in understanding. "It's only natural. I don't blame you, Cousin Mo Yu."
Xiao Yan waved it off, not taking the matter too seriously.
Gu Nanhai sighed softly, "Without proof, no one will believe us. But let's not dwell on it. The Purifying Lotus Demon Flame is about to emerge, and the Yao Clan and Shi Clan won't miss this chance. They should be arriving soon."
As if on cue, shortly after the Lei Clan's arrival, the sound of rushing wind filled the air once more. Faint traces of medicinal fragrance accompanied the wind.
"The Yao Clan is here."
Upon sensing this unique presence, Mo Yu's eyes narrowed.
In the distance, space rippled, and three figures flashed into view, standing prominently in the sky.
The newcomers were unfamiliar: a man, a woman, and an elderly figure. The man was dressed in luxurious robes, his face handsome but carrying a hint of coldness and arrogance. His thin lips and sharp gaze added to his icy demeanor.
The woman beside him had long blue hair and an exquisite face, but she was as cold as ice—a true "ice beauty."
The last figure, an old man clad in an alchemist's robe, had his hands tucked into his sleeves, his eyes half-closed, though sharp glints occasionally flickered from them.
"That young man is Yao Tian, the Yao Clan's most outstanding talent in recent years. His soul power has reached the late Heavenly Stage, and he once consumed a pill that nearly became a nine-star heavenly pill. As a result, his strength is now at the mid-one-star Dou Saint level. He's one of the brightest stars of the Yao Clan, and it's said he successfully refined a nine-star pill," Fei'er whispered to Mo Yu.
Mo Yu nodded slowly. In these ancient clans, with their boundless resources, even an ordinary person could be made into a powerful figure, let alone those with extraordinary talent. Their accomplishments were naturally terrifying.
"The woman is his sister, Yao Ling. Her strength is only at the early Half-Saint level, but her soul is quite unique. Many in the Yao Clan believe she has the potential to cultivate her soul to the Emperor level."
"The old man is an elder of the Yao Clan, very senior. His name is..."
Before Fei'er could finish, Yao Lao's slightly raspy voice chimed in, "Yao Wangui. He's in charge of punishments within the Yao Clan, with the authority to decide life and death."
Mo Yu blinked in surprise and turned to Yao Lao, noticing that the elder's body was trembling slightly as he stared intently at Yao Wangui.
"Teacher?" Xiao Yan quickly grabbed Yao Lao's arm, sensing that something was wrong.
"I'm fine," Yao Lao replied after taking a deep breath and shaking his head.
"Yao Lao and Yao Wangui... there seems to be some history between them," Mo Yu said quietly, realizing something deeper was at play.
After a moment of silence, Yao Lao clenched his fists and spoke in a hoarse voice, "Years ago, it was his word alone that exiled me from the Yao Clan."
Hearing this, Xiao Yan's expression darkened. He gently patted Yao Lao's arm before a cold, murderous smile appeared on his face.
"Teacher, I promise you, I'll be the one to end him," Xiao Yan said, his voice steely.
Mo Yu's eyes narrowed slightly, and he glanced at Yao Wangui with a cold smile. "Yao Lao has helped me countless times. If there's anything I can do to help you with this revenge, just let me know."
Beyond vengeance, capturing Yao Wangui, a high-ranking elder of the Yao Clan, could bring many benefits to Yuanfu, including valuable high-tier alchemy formulas.
