Wade thought to himself: Well, it's not like he guessed wrong…
Dumbledore probably did exactly what Ryan assumed, and Wade was involved—trying to stop the killer forest from invading the stadium.
It was just that Ryan got the person he was following wrong.
If they knew the one beside Wade at that time was actually Grindelwald, half the people in the tent would probably explode in screeching panic.
As for the other half, they'd be screaming while running off to fetch Dumbledore…
Wade smiled, neither confirming nor denying it. He only said, "Although the trees were destroyed, the Dark wizard who cast the spell wasn't caught. I suspect he was probably in the stands, disguised as an ordinary spectator."
Ryan frowned. "If he didn't accomplish his goal, then he might try again."
"Yeah," Wade said, taking a sip of his drink. "The cursed forest trick won't work again—spells like that need a lot of prep in advance. But he might use other means. Best not to sleep tonight, and keep your wand close."
"I got it. I'll tell the others—"
Before Ryan could finish his sentence, he saw that Ginny, who had just been laughing and chatting, had already dozed off on Padma's shoulder. Her cup of hot chocolate nearly spilled, but Kreacher quickly caught it and gently set it on the table.
Her brothers were still deep in animated discussion about match tactics and fouls, completely unaware that their little sister had already nodded off.
Padma shifted a little so Ginny could rest more comfortably on the couch, then yawned herself.
Ryan paused for a second, then changed what he was going to say. "I'll go talk to Theo… I don't think he drank anything. A few of us can take turns keeping watch."
Wade nodded. "I'll check in with Bill and Charlie. And if anyone wants to go sleep in the bedroom, tell them not to change into pajamas."
Ryan nodded in agreement.
Maybe it was the pure joy of the celebration that kept them from making a big deal out of things. After all, if that Dark wizard saw the Aurors patrolling nonstop and the camp full of alert witches and wizards, maybe he'd just stay hidden.
There was no need to make everyone anxious over it.
In fact, these teens who had planned to celebrate all night didn't have nearly as much energy as they thought.
The Weasley kids especially—having gotten up before dawn to catch the Portkey—had essentially stayed up for 24 hours. After all the dancing and singing, they gradually quieted down.
No one even made it upstairs to the bedrooms. They just crashed wherever—on the couches or carpets, they were sprawled out and fast asleep. Kreacher quietly fetched some blankets from the bedrooms and gently covered everyone.
Wade dozed off for a bit too. When he woke, he saw Ryan leaning by the window, keeping watch over the campsite. Wade gave him a pat on the shoulder, signaling him to get some rest.
Then Wade made himself a cup of coffee to stay awake, stepped outside the tent, sat down, and took a bite of chocolate.
Chocolate—the wizarding world's cheap and effective magical energy booster. After two pieces, Wade felt much more refreshed.
Finally, he had a quiet moment to reflect on Grindelwald's words—and Dumbledore's reaction to them.
The cheers of Irish supporters still echoed faintly at the edges of the camp, though the little lantern-carrying leprechauns were nowhere to be seen.
"Mind if I sit here?"
A deep and gentle voice rang out overhead, laced with a hint of amusement.
Wade looked up and saw Bill Weasley standing nearby, holding two cans of beer. The little fan-shaped earring on his ear gently swayed.
"Please, go ahead," Wade said, scooting over to make room.
Bill sat down, stretched out his long legs, and casually handed one of the beers to Wade. "Want one?"
"Sorry, I don't drink," Wade replied.
"That's a shame. You're missing out on at least a third of the world's pleasures."
Bill shrugged and took the beer back, then with a flick of his hand, produced a new black can. "How about coffee then?"
"That'll do," Wade said with a smile as he accepted the can. He pulled the tab with a soft pop, and the rich scent of coffee spread into the night air.
Bill opened his own can, and white foam immediately bubbled up from it. He took a big swig before saying:
"Thanks for looking after them… Fred and George are two years older than you, but all they care about is messing around and pulling pranks. And yet, it's a younger kid like you keeping everyone safe."
"I just happened to know a bit more than the others," Wade replied.
"I wasn't just talking about tonight."
Bill smiled. "I've heard the Streaming mirror was mostly your invention—the twins just helped out. Not only did they learn a ton of alchemy from you, they even got a stake in the business."
"You're underestimating them. Fred and George are incredibly talented," Wade said. "When I first started learning alchemy, they were actually the ones who helped guide me."
Bill thought for a moment and then said, "How about this... Let's stop complimenting each other for now?"
That made Wade chuckle—he liked Bill's relaxed and straightforward way of speaking.
Bill went on, "Actually, I heard about you quite a while ago—not from the newspaper or the twins. It was from my little brother, Ron. He mentions you in almost every letter, though I doubt he realizes it."
"Ron?" Wade blinked.
"Yeah," Bill said as the corner of his mouth lifted in a faint smile. "And Ginny too. After she started school, I heard the name 'Wade Grey' even more often."
He turned back to glance at the tent behind them with a warm and clear gaze.
"You might not be that close to them, but my little brother and sister—well, they admire you a lot. Even if they'd never admit it."
"I think you're pretty impressive too," Wade said.
"Twelve O.W.L.s—I've taken all the subjects too, so I know how hard that is. And I've heard curse-breaking is a seriously dangerous job, with all the ancient jinxes, poisons, and hexes. Most people wouldn't have the guts to even try it."
Bill laughed. "I like adventure—just like Charlie loves dragons, and Fred and George are obsessed with anything that makes people laugh."
Wade nodded. "You Weasley brothers are all remarkable."
"But Ron's a silly kid," Bill said fondly, with a smile. "Wandering through life, still hasn't found his path. And Ginny… she's actually way more mischievous than you've seen—but the moment she's around Harry, she turns into a walking tomato."
Wade couldn't help but laugh at that description.
Bill raised his beer can in a casual toast. "Sometimes my siblings aren't great at expressing themselves, but I promise—they're kind, passionate, and good at heart."
He paused for a moment and then asked, "If you get the chance, maybe you could teach them a few spells? I know they won't have a chance to compete for the final trophy in that game, but just getting to take part with their friends—that'd be more than enough for them."
Wade nodded with a smile. "Of course. If they want help, I'm always happy to offer it."
"That's great," Bill said, eyes twinkling.
They clinked their cans together.
In the distance, a firelight flickered—and suddenly, a piercing, chilling scream echoed faintly from the dark!
