Chapter 522 - Chapter 522: Post-Match Celebration

Grindelwald and the Alliance had already left. Wade stood alone in the now-empty campsite, and glanced around. He waited for a while, but Dumbledore never appeared.

—Could it be that Dumbledore isn't nearby?

Just as this thought crossed Wade's mind, he immediately crushed the faint hope of such a low-probability possibility.

With all the commotion at the edge of the campsite, the wizards who were engrossed in the match inside the stadium might not have noticed anything—after all, numerous Silencing Charms, Shielding Spells, and Warding Spells had been placed around the stadium.

But for Dumbledore to have not noticed anything at all? —Absolutely impossible.

Unless he wasn't even at the campsite to begin with.

But after Sirius informed Dumbledore of the Death Eaters' plans, there is no way the headmaster would leave it entirely to others. He must have come.

Wade was still torn in thought when he suddenly heard a wave of noise—the match had ended, and a tide of people came pouring out of the stadium!

Lanterns that had been dim throughout the campsite lit up all at once. Rough singing echoed in the night sky. The crowd seemed to erupt like mushrooms after the rain—one blink and they were everywhere.

Several Irish leprechauns in red vests flew overhead with golden and green lanterns, and they laughed joyfully as they darted through the air.

Wade struggled against the flow of people and headed toward the tents, when suddenly a hand grabbed his arm. Harry's smiling face appeared right in front of him.

"Hey, Wade, there you are!" Harry shouted cheerfully. "Come on, we're going back to the tent to keep celebrating!"

"You really missed out!" Michael yelled over the noise, plugging his ears with his fingers. "I swear—there won't be a match this exciting for the next fifty years!"

"Kids! Kids! You should all be going to bed now!" Mr. Weasley was pushed to the other side of the path by the crowd. He was tiptoeing and shouting, trying to gather his children back to their tent.

"Alright, Dad! I'll make sure they head to bed soon—you go get some rest!"

A tan-skinned wizard with a sturdy build had an arm around Ron, Fred, and the others, and he was calling back to Mr. Weasley.

"You're the one I least trust with that, Charlie!" Mr. Weasley immediately shouted back.

Another tall, red-haired man with a long ponytail grabbed Mr. Weasley, said a few words with a grin, and led him off.

"That's Bill—Ron's oldest brother," Harry explained when he noticed Wade looking back. He then pointed to the tan-skinned redhead, "And that's Charlie—the second eldest in the Weasley family."

When they reached the tent and Wade looked back again, he saw that Bill Weasley had not only sent his father back, but had even dragged Percy along, who had originally refused to come.

The eldest Weasley son was tall and stylishly dressed in a Muggle-style studded leather jacket. He looked quite trendy, with an earring in one ear. As he strode over, his flaming red hair seemed to blaze like fire.

Wade lifted the flap and stepped into the tent to find that Hermione, Theo, and the others had already arrived. They were busy carrying food and drinks from the kitchen.

Kreacher was grilling meat, and it looked like he desperately wished he had eight arms just to keep up with the number of guests.

"This place is all yours tonight, kids," said Sirius as he threw on his coat and headed out the door. He added cheerfully, "Party all you want, celebrate however you like. Just let Kreacher know if you need anything."

"Can we celebrate all night? I don't want to sleep!" Harry shouted.

Sirius raised an eyebrow. "Of course you can!"

"Woooo!"

A cheer erupted inside the tent, and even Hermione, who wasn't that into Quidditch, couldn't help but smile with joy.

Sirius chuckled and left without another word.

With no parents around, the young crowd in the tent became even more uninhibited. Though Bill and Charlie were new faces to most, their open and cheerful personalities quickly won everyone over.

Even their younger sister Ginny didn't want to go back to the Weasley family's tent—if she did, their dad would definitely start enforcing bedtime. But the whole campsite was alive with celebration; she had no intention of going to sleep early and missing out.

"Krum caught the Golden Snitch, but Ireland still won! Even Bagman said—no one expected it to end like that!"

Michael gushed excitedly as he popped open a bottle of butterbeer.

"We expected it! We guessed it before the match even started!"

Fred and George were dancing in circles with their arms linked, dragging Ron—who had been quietly eating—away from the table and forcing him to bounce along with them.

"No! Stop! You're stepping on my feet!"

Ron, all long limbs and no rhythm, shouted loudly, but his brothers ignored him entirely.

"Why are they so hyped?" Padma asked curiously as she picked over the fruit. "Which team were they even supporting?"

"Fred and George don't support any team," Ginny explained in a hushed voice. "They only support their wallets. They made a bet with Ludo Bagman before the match and won a load of Galleons."

"Oh…" Padma suddenly understood.

Ginny gave the pretty girl beside her a friendly smile, then picked up a mug of hot chocolate and sipped it slowly.

Everyone else in the tent was older than her, and most of them were top students in one way or another—especially Harry Potter, who was sitting just a few feet away. That made the red-haired girl feel quite nervous.

In moments like these, she would glance at Ron, and her courage and confidence would slowly start to build again.

Ryan sat beside Wade and said, "I thought for sure you'd go watch the match! You were nowhere to be seen all night. Don't tell me something happened?"

Wade knew that although Ryan didn't like to show off, he was observant and sharp. And with the forest outside the camp in its current state, it would be impossible to keep things hidden—by morning, everyone would notice. There was no point in pretending.

So Wade lowered his voice and said, "Actually, something happened on the outskirts of the campsite during the match."

Ryan didn't respond, but gave Wade a questioning look.

Wade asked, "Do you know about the 19th-century incident, when the killer Forest attacked the Quidditch World Cup final?"

"Of course," Ryan nodded.

He, like many others, had grown up hearing all sorts of bizarre tales from the wizarding world—his head was packed with magical gossip.

"Tonight, there were Dark wizards who tried to do the same thing." Wade paused, then continued, watching Ryan's eyes widen. "But Grindelwald and the Alliance showed up too… They destroyed the part of the forest that had been corrupted."

Ryan's face shifted into a look of sudden understanding. "So, the reason you didn't watch the match… is because you were with Professor Dumbledore, guarding the stadium to stop the Killer Forest from reaching the pitch?"

Wade: "…"
