Most of the students of Class 1-A thought the look on Tatsuo's face when Nemuri mentioned the nickname that Present Mic gave him, the Prince of the Void, was priceless. They got even more entertainment out of the fact that no matter how hard Tatsuo tried to argue the use of that nickname, Nemuri shut it down, resulting in Tatsuo's Hero Name being, Void Hero, Void Prince.
The other students in the class chose the same names they used in canon, leaving Akatsuki and Sakura as the only ones whose Hero Names Tatsuo did not know. Though, they had discussed possibilities over the year they had spent in this world.
The first to choose her name was Sakura. And the name she chose was Shadow Hero, Nightshade. As for Akatsuki, she chose the code name, Stealth Hero, Akatsuki, a name that surprised absolutely no one. Especially since Tatsuo and Sakura had been calling her Akatsuki for as long as they could remember.
After that, the rest of the day passed quickly with the students taking every opportunity to discuss which Heroes they would intern under. Though, by the time it was time for the students to turn in their applications, most of the students had also gone with their canon choices.
The only exception was Izuku. Because he did not need to learn how to control [One for All], there was no need for him to intern under Gran Torino. So, he ended up interning with Sir Nighteye, one of All Might's former sidekicks, instead.
As for Tatsuo, Akatsuki, and Sakura, as previously mentioned, they all chose to intern under Alfonzo, or rather the Static Shock Hero Agency. And that choice actually made a certain Rabbit Hero quite irritated. But instead of throwing a tantrum, she just decided that she would simply follow the quartet and occasionally ask for a fight.
"So, where are we going?" Rumi asked while walking alongside Tatsuo, Alfonzo, Akatsuki, and Sakura, all dressed in their Hero Costumes, with her arms up and her hands cupping the back of her head. "We're not gonna be staying in Musutafu the whole time, are we?"
"Well, I don't know where you're going, but we'll be going to a few places around Tokyo." Alfonzo replied while rolling his eyes.
"Do you really think it will be that easy to get rid of me?" Rumi asked with her eyes narrowed.
"Of course, I do." Alfonzo replied with a smile. He then gestured towards Tatsuo with his right hand. "And just in case you forgot about him, may I introduce my cousin... Pfft! *Cough* *Cough* Void Prince."
Tatsuo, who was chatting with Akatsuki and Sakura, lost all semblance of expression when he heard Alfonzo refer to him by his Hero name. He then slowly turned towards him.
"Don't make me hurt you, Alfonzo." Tatsuo said in a flat tone.
"Ah! Ah! Ah! While in costume, it's Static, remember?" Alfonzo said while wagging a finger in Tatsuo's direction with a smug smile on his face.
Akatsuki and Sakura could not help giggle at the back and forth while Rumi sneered in Tatsuo's direction. Meanwhile, Tatsuo only responded with a raised middle finger to Alfonzo's smug, teasing smile. He then turned to Rumi, his expressionless face blooming into a smile of his own.
"Hi, Mirko." Tatsuo said with fake sincerity. "It's an honor to meet you, I'm V-V-Void Prince, and it's my first day as an intern. My [Quirk] allows me to teleport as far as Okinawa."
Rumi's eyebrows twitched in response. Just remembering the time Tatsuo teleported her to Okinawa before just leaving her there made her fists itchy as she had to hold herself back from trying to punch him in the face.
A moment later, Rumi tried something she had never done before.
"Come on, Tatsuo-Kun." Rumi said while trying, and failing, to put on a pair of puppy dog eyes while tilting her head to one side, her rabbit ears flopping to one side with the movement. "Let me come with you, please. You'd be able to take down a lot more criminals and villains if I come with you."
"Fuck!" Alfonzo groaned as he covered his eyes with his hands. "I think I'm going blind. On top of that, my stomach hurts. It's like that time Gramps and all those other middle-aged men tried to use puppy dog eyes to get me to agree to cook."
Knowing Alfonzo must have been referring to Makarov and the middle-aged men of Fairy Tail, Tatsuo could not help but grimace. Meanwhile, Akatsuki and Sakura looked at Rumi strangely. The tough Heroine they knew would never do something like that just because she couldn't get what she wanted. Instead, she would kick the problem until it wasn't a problem anymore.
"Is that the real Mirko?" Sakura asked Akatsuki in a whisper.
"Honestly, I'm not sure." Akatsuki replied with a whisper of her own. "But after seeing that, I'd be willing to bet that she's not."
"Maybe we should grab onto Tatsuo-Kun so that we can get away if things go wrong." Sakura said while glancing warily at Rumi.
"That's probably a good idea." Akatsuki replied as she and Sakura stepped closer to Tatsuo.
Meanwhile, Rumi's eyebrows twitched even more fiercely as she was able to hear the two girls whispers. She then shot a glare at the two, causing them to step even closer to Tatsuo while grabbing his arms in preparation for a quick getaway.
"Pfft! Ahahahahahahaha!" At first, Alfonzo tried to hold in his laughter. But not even a second later, he burst out into full-bellied laughter that drew the attention of the civilians walking up and down the street.
Although Tatsuo was able to hold in his laughter, the way his body was shuddering made it clear that he was struggling with such a Herculean task. And when Akatsuki and Sakura saw the look on Rumi's face, they were unable to hide their own smiles as they looked away.
"I hate all of you." Rumi said while clenching her teeth. She then snapped her head in Alfonzo's direction. "So, are you bringing me with you, or not?"
In response, Alfonzo smiled brightly while looking Rumi in the eyes. Seeing that, Rumi's lips curled into a smile, as well. However, when she heard Alfonzo's response, that smile froze immediately.
"Nope!" Alfonzo replied as he placed a hand on Tatsuo's shoulder.
In the next instant, Tatsuo, Alfonzo, Akatsuki, and Sakura vanished from the streets of Musutafu, leaving Rumi standing there with a frozen smile spread across her face.
"Damn you, Static!" Rumi threw her head back and shouted into the sky. "I'll get you for this!"
*Bang!*
Rumi's shout drew even more attention than Alfonzo's earlier laughter. But when she stomped her foot, cracking the sidewalk, the onlookers quickly realized they had something more important to do than watching the drama.
*Boom!*
Not paying attention to the onlookers, Rumi then leapt into the air. Then, at the peak of her leap, she kicked the air behind her, sending her towards Tokyo while breaking the sound barrier.
"I swear to God, Static!" Rumi shouted as she soared through the sky. "You better not let me catch you!"
MHA Universe, Earth, Japan, Kiryu
"Where are we?" Akatsuki asked while looking around after she, Tatsuo, Alfonzo, and Sakura appeared on the roof of a building.
"Kiryu." Alfonzo replied calmly. "This is our first stop on our tour."
"Kiryu?" Sakura asked while tilting her head in confusion. "In Gunma Prefecture? The place famous for traditional Japanese silk products and kimonos?"
"The very same." Tatsuo replied.
"It's actually a pretty good place to go on patrol." Alfonzo added. "Because of all the silk, there are a lot of would-be thieves in the city."
"I'm actually more surprised that this world's Kiryu is still like that." Akatsuki said while continuing to look around. "I mean, it's so rare to see people wearing traditional clothes in this era."
"Even so, the silk industry is still just as lucrative." Alfonzo replied with a shrug. "Anyway, because I know how far ahead of the rest of your class you three are, I got permission for all of you to use your [Quirks] in public while you're interning under me. So, the three of you will be the ones stopping any crimes this week. I'll just be here to step in if anything you can't handle pops up."
That caused Akatsuki and Sakura to turn back to look at Alfonzo with surprise. These internships were not supposed to be like the work studies Tatsuo and Alfonzo told them about from the canonical timeline where the students worked as actual Heroes with Provisional Hero Licenses.
As for Tatsuo, he was already expecting this. Alfonzo had told him ahead of time, after all. And because of that, before Akatsuki and Sakura turned to look at Alfonzo with surprise, his smartphone was already in his hand with the camera app ready to go.
*Click!* *Click!* *Click!* *Click!* *Click!*
So, when Akatsuki and Sakura were making the expressions he was expecting, Tatsuo began [Blinking] around the group, taking pictures of their surprised faces from different angles.
"Hey! What are you doing?" Akatsuki asked angrily after she realized that Tatsuo was taking pictures.
"Nothing really." Tatsuo said as he stored his smartphone in his [Inventory]. "Just getting some keepsake photos. I'm sure the members of Log Horizon would love to see their stoic assassin with an adorably surprised look on her face. Oh, I bet Henrietta would like to see them, too."
While the thought of the members of her guild in Elder Tales seeing those photos made Akatsuki flush in anger, when she heard the name, "Henrietta," a beautiful, female member of one of Log Horizon's allied guilds with a particular fondness for small, cute things, Akatsuki's face went pale immediately.
"You... You can't do that." Akatsuki said weakly. "If Henrietta were to ever see that, she would never let me go."
"Really?" Tatsuo asked with an exaggeratedly confused expression on his face. He then shifted his expression into a smirk while turning away from and completely ignoring any further pleading from Akatsuki, turning his attention to Sakura. "And I'm sure your dear sister would like to see you looking so adorably confused, too."
Sakura flushed, as well. However, she was not nearly as flustered as Akatsuki. It would seem that ever since Sakura was freed from the Matous and reconnected with her sister, Rin, things had been getting better.
"She would probably like to see it." Sakura said softly.
"Oh, there's no probably." Tatsuo said with a wide smile on his face. "I wouldn't be surprised if she had a shrine dedicated to you. You know, to make up for everything that happened in the past."
With that, Sakura's flush intensified, causing Tatsuo's smile to freeze. At the same time, Alfonzo and Akatsuki, temporarily forgetting her own embarrassment, looked at Sakura with dumbfounded expressions on their faces.
"Wait... Are you fucking serious?" Alfonzo asked in a shocked tone.
"Wow... I thought sis-cons were born, not made." Akatsuki added.
"Yeah, I was just talking trash, trying to make her embarrassed." Tatsuo said while scratching the side of his head. "But... Yeah... I wasn't expecting that."
"*Cough* Anyway..." Sakura said, her shadow waving frantically due to her embarrassment. "I can sense someone robbing a textile shop. We should step in before they get away with it."
Then before anyone could respond, Sakura's shadow expanded. Then, she sank into it, reappearing a few blocks away from the shadow of a shop sign. At the same time, her shadow expanded, covering the entire floor area of the shop before shadow tendrils shot up and bound the robber.
"Damn it! Who the hell are you?" A woman with long, unkempt hair shouted while struggling to free herself from Sakura's shadows. "I need this silk! If I don't have it, my kimono shop will go out of business!"
After Sakura bound the woman, Tatsuo [Blinked] with Alfonzo and Akatsuki, arriving just outside the shop's front door. When they looked inside, they found a young woman ducking behind the cash register with a smartphone gripped tightly in her hands, fear etched into her expression. Apparently, she was calling the police about the robbery before Sakura arrived.
After seeing the store clerk, they looked at the woman Sakura had bound. They then noticed her hair was moving in an unnatural way. On top of that, they could see the glint of metal hidden in her hair, as well. However, before they could warn Sakura, more tendrils rose from the shadows and wrapped around the woman's hair like a swimming cap.
"I guess Nightshade's got it covered." Alfonzo said with a smile. "Didn't even have to warn her about the needles this Villain had hidden in her hair."
"What!? I'm not a Villain!" The woman shrieked. "I just needed to get some silk to make more kimonos. It's not my fault that I didn't have enough money to buy it."
"Uh... Sorry to say this..." Tatsuo said. "But committing a crime with the use of a [Quirk] automatically makes you a Villain."
As if she were genuinely unaware of that information, the woman Sakura had wrapped in her shadows paled, her expression shifting from desperation to panic.
*Beep!* *Beep!* *Beep!*
However, before the woman could say anything, Alfonzo's communicator provided by the Hero Public Safety Commission beeped, notifying him of a Villain crime in progress.
"Hmm... I think they're talking about her." Alfonzo muttered. He then turned to the clerk, who was peaking over the counter cautiously. "Excuse me, miss. But could you tell me the address to this store?"
Still in shock, the clerk was unable to respond immediately. Then, after calming down, she recognized Alfonzo, or rather Static, delaying her response even further. Yet, even after Alfonzo calmed her down, she then recognized Tatsuo, and began swooning, delaying the response even more.
"I should just let the Villain go." Sakura muttered darkly.
"Now, now, Sakura-Chan." Akatsuki said while smiling wryly. "You can't do that. It would make Alfonzo-San look bad."
Meanwhile, Alfonzo gave up on getting an answer from the clerk, deciding to look up his current location on his lPhone. Then, after confirming that he was in the right place, he notified the authorities that Sakura, with his permission to act, had taken care of the incident and they were waiting to hand the Villain over to the police.
About ten minutes later, the police took the Villain off their hands, and they went on to continue patrolling the city of Kiryu. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, they did not come across any other crimes. So, neither Tatsuo nor Akatsuki had the chance to act before they headed back to Musutafu at the end of the day.
MHA Universe, Earth, Japan, Yokohama.
"I was sure they would have come here first." Rumi muttered while looking around from the top of an office building in Yokohama. "But I've been running around all day and haven't seen them at all. They must have gone in another direction. Tch! I'll just have to grab the kid and make sure to not let go tomorrow."
After that, Rumi leapt into the air before kicking off the air in the direction of Musutafu. Meanwhile, Tomura watched her go through a pair of binoculars.
"What the hell was that crazy rabbit woman doing in Yokohama?" Tomura asked in a snarl. "Did she find out where our hideout is?"
"Probably not." Kurogiri replied calmly. "It looked like she was looking for someone. But I doubt it was us."
*Shatter!*
"Then who?" Tomura asked as he threw the binoculars on the ground, shattering the lenses.
"I'm afraid I have no answer to your question." Kurogiri replied. "But since she is gone, would you like to return?"
"Yeah..." Tomura muttered. "I just hope my rank hasn't dropped too much. Because of her showing up out of nowhere, I had to quit in the middle of a match. And doing that makes your rank drop faster than just losing."
As soon as Tomura gave the acknowledgement to Kurogiri's question, Kurogiri's mist body expanded, engulfing Tomura. And by the time Tomura's complaints ended, the mist had retracted before disappearing completely, leaving the spot where the two Villains had been standing completely empty, save the broken pair of binoculars.
