~Amelia~
One second I was in the kitchen, hungry for the first time since the ceremony disaster, thinking maybe life was finally giving me a break. The next second the knife slipped from my hand, the room tilted, and I saw a little girl standing in the middle of the training field with silver light buzzing in her fingers.
I froze.
The toast dropped.
In the vision, she looked about six. Dark hair. Kaden’s eyes. My lips. Tiny little thing with a stubborn chin and dirt on her knees. She had one hand stretched out in front of her, tongue sticking out in concentration, while a half-shifted boy twice her size stared at her like she had just grown a second head.
Then she grinned mischievously.
The silver light leapt from her hand and knocked him flat on his ass.
He hit the dirt and started yelling. “Hey, you hurt me!”
She laughed wickedly. “Aren’t boys supposed to be strong? You’re weak!”
Oh, fantastic. Our child was going to be a menace.
