My Vibrius power hit her at point-blank range.
She screamed as it blasted through her and hurled her into one of the trees. Bark cracked. Her body folded wrong for a second before she dropped to one knee.
I pointed at her.
“One more fucking time,” I warned, voice shaking with rage, “and I will put you in the ground.”
“There she is,” she said hoarsely. “That’s the girl Blake couldn’t shut up about.”
She lunged low and fast, more desperate now than clever, and slammed into me hard enough to knock me backward. We hit the ground in a tangle. She got one hand on my shoulder and the other tried for my stomach again.
I caught her wrist with both hands and lost it.
“You are obsessed with my fucking belly!”
My power exploded again between us.
She flew off me with a scream and skidded across the grass, clutching her arm.
I scrambled to my feet, one hand over my stomach, the other already glowing.
“Get up,” I commanded. “Since you came all this way to embarrass yourself.”
