Chapter 335 - Chapter : 333 : Experience The Happy Game of Leap of Faith

There is no doubt that Ezio stands as the ultimate, indisputable protagonist of Assassin's Creed. Even if the opening hours tease players into believing Desmond is the true lead tasked with saving the planet from impending doom, Ezio's journey commands over eighty percent of the overarching narrative.

For a character to etch themselves permanently into a player's memory, a flashy design alone isn't enough. A truly iconic hero needs a distinct personality forged in the fires of a grand, unforgettable odyssey. Look at veteran Resident Evil players; almost every single one of them harbors a deep affection for Leon, Ada, or Claire. Even the arch-villain Wesker gained a massive fanbase simply because his tailored plotlines, sharp charisma, and distinct traits transformed him into a living, breathing entity rather than a cardboard antagonist.

Without proper narrative flesh on the bones, a character becomes as forgettable as the truck driver who munches a burger in an opening scene, gets chewed on by zombies, and abruptly kicks the bucket. Who remembers or cares about someone like that?

Ezio, however, is painstakingly sculpted by a rich narrative canvas. Watching him evolve leaves players with a profound sense of connection. He begins as a brash, hot-headed youth driven purely by vengeance, gradually maturing into a master who respects the gravity of death. He builds a brotherhood to defy the Templars, eventually setting off to uncover the ancient secrets of Altaïr to find his own inner truth. By the time the credits roll, players genuinely feel as though they've lived an entire lifetime alongside him.

Beyond the main campaign, the world is packed with secondary quests and collectibles. Viewed in isolation, these side tasks might seem mundane, but after walking the full length of the core storyline, returning to them offers an entirely new perspective.

From a pure gameplay perspective, this refined rendition of Assassin's Creed raises the bar significantly. It doesn't just rely on standard RPG skill trees; instead, it expands the vast range of options available for achieving your objectives. You can stealthily slip through shadows and solve intricate environmental puzzles, or you can draw your blade, unleash full-blown combat mastery, and slaughter every guard in sight. Naturally, taking the loud route requires real mechanical skill, unless, of course, you stop halfway through the main story, spend hours furiously grinding side content, and show up looking like a literal god coming to bully novice-zone NPCs.

Over on Shark TV, John was currently livestreaming his playthrough of Assassin's Creed. When it came to efficiently promoting his own titles while picking up a handsome side paycheck, John routinely demonstrated masterclasses through direct action. Taking on sponsored streams was a no-brainer; after all, within the gaming community, John was a recognized, prominent game developer.

Besides, the platform paid well, the stream doubled as free marketing, and John himself genuinely enjoyed doing it. So when Armani mentioned that Shark TV was eager to book him for a live broadcast, John had signed off without a second thought.

At least, that was John's personal perspective. In reality, Shark TV's primary goal was to negotiate an exclusive broadcast rights deal with PixelPioneers Games for the official Warcraft tournament, complete with an integrated live stream source directly inside the game client. John's individual stream was merely a convenient bonus for them.

Oblivious to the corporate strategy behind the scenes, John was happily glancing at his viewer count and comment feed. As for the precise mathematical accuracy of those numbers, he couldn't tell and honestly didn't care to ask. After all, a displayed metric claiming tens of millions of concurrent viewers was obviously bloated, right? Tens of millions? Get out of here! Was the entire internet population watching a single channel at the same time?

John brushed it off with a smirk.

"Alright, alright, let's jump back into the game," John announced with a relaxed grin, settling into his chair after his assistant signaled that the stream audio and video were running smoothly. "After this section, I'll pull a few viewer questions from the chat to answer live. Keep them focused on the game, though; I won't be taking personal or off-topic questions!"

Even though he held the formal title of game producer, John was constantly building a presence online, dropping small updates every two days and major social account posts every three. Compared to traditional, reclusive game developers, his personal popularity was off the charts, a natural byproduct of PixelPioneers Games consistently pumping out hits.

During the previous Warcraft tournament at the convention, John's legendary 'toxic jinxing' had shown every single viewer the terrifying power of metaphysical luck. Ever since video editors started clipping those moments, John had become the undisputed icon of jinxes. Phrases like: "Frost Wyrm counter is a guaranteed win", "I'm a professional, do you think I can't read the board?" and "Sky is definitely toast" had all instantly achieved meme status across the community.

"Okay, everyone, today we're exploring Assassin's Creed," John continued, opting not to engage directly with the exploding chat stream. Given the overwhelming deluge of text, he had turned on a filtered chat overlay that displayed selected comments on his main feed. "I'm sure most of you have already played through it or even cleared the story, so today is more of a casual hangout rather than a hardcore walkthrough."

Controlling Ezio on screen, John executed a flawless, perfectly timed elimination before turning to the camera with a sly grin. "As you can all see, the true essence of an assassin is executing a clean target elimination without a single living witness seeing it."

Looking at the game screen, where a massive heap of slain guards was piled up around Ezio, the audience immediately broke into a frenzy.

"God-tier 'stealth' elimination right there!"

"Technically true, can't be any witnesses if nobody is left breathing!"

"Staring at that mountain of corpses has me questioning my entire life choices."

John casually ignored the roasted comments and kept chatting with the chat. "Now, why didn't Ezio finish off the Pope at the end? The official narrative explanation is that Ezio finally grasped the true, higher path of an assassin; he learned to let go of blind vengeance."

He paused, letting out a laugh. "Of course, if we step away from the official PR answer and look at it purely as players... the historical Pope didn't die at that point in real life, and his son Caesar still needed his political power to climb the ranks. The history books literally saved the guy!"

"LMAO, this is the real canon reason!"

"And here I thought Uncle Ezio showed mercy... turns out history armor saved your neck, bro!"

"Developer self-meta roasting at its finest!"

After gaming and bantering with his audience for about an hour, John turned toward his webcam. "Alright folks, that's going to wrap up today's live stream!"

The moment the words left his mouth, the chat burst into a chaotic wall of complaints:

"Ahhh, come on! Just a little longer!"

"No way, it's only been two hours! Who clocks out this early?!"

"Stop whining, guys, John isn't a full-time streamer. If he streams all day, who's gonna make our games?"

Watching the flood of enthusiastic messages, John offered a warm, amicable smile to the camera. "Don't worry, whenever I have free time, I'll hop on and stream again. Also, keep an eye on our official PixelPioneers social account! We'll be rolling out two free indie games soon where everyone can experience the sheer joy of the 'Leap of Faith.' They aren't AAA blockbusters, just fun self-developed titles, but they feature crossover events with Resident Evil Resistance, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Warcraft."

Experience the joy of a Leap of Faith game? The moment those words dropped, the entire community blew up with hype.
