"It is…" Lucavion stopped, as though the remaining words had caught somewhere behind his throat. His voice emerged less steadily when he tried again. "Sustaining itself?"
Elara had already confirmed as much, yet the answer did not come immediately.
Her attention had shifted away from the sphere.
Lucavion's palm remained open beneath it, close enough for its pale light to gather along his fingers without touching them. His posture had gone still, but not with the deliberate control he used whenever he wished to conceal a reaction. Even his eyes were different. The sharpness that usually measured whatever stood before him had softened, leaving his gaze fixed upon the simple manifestation as though looking elsewhere might cause it to vanish.
