Chapter 7 - chapter 7: wanna stick with me?

After saying my final words I stood in of front the coffin for a few more seconds then turned around and began walking back towards my seat passing by the old lady 'Ms. Yamiko' and the two others, Yura and Yuro who lingered staring at her while the she was staring at the coffin with my grandmother in it.

"How long are you gonna stand there and stare at her." I turned back to look at Yamiko. Soon she turned her head back towards me slightly shifting her body stance sideways, neither facing me nor the coffin she was staring at a moment ago.

"Boy you're a century too young to talk to me like that." She said her eyes cold and empty. The feeling I got looking into those deep purple eyes was that like of staring into a boundless abyss covered in darkness and destruction but this only made my gaze fix onto her eyes more intensely never leaving them, or showing any sign of being intimidated.

"They say stare into the abyss and the abyss stares back, I wonder if this is what they meant.." I chuckled talking to myself.

"And yet you still refuse to look away from it, why is that?" Yamiko asked as her eyes reflected a bit of light in them along with the deep darkness.

" Why would I look away when death has already destroyed me. What? would the abyss like to swallow me next? Then so be it, come try if you please ." My voice dropped low, sounding way more ominous than even I knew I could sound myself.

"Ahahaha, kid you're something else, but I like your vibe it ain't like most of those morons out there, so what do you say, wanna stick with me?" Yamiko laughed while walking towards me. I felt a weird calm rising in me as she patted my head and began walking back towards the seating area pushing me along. The silent duo Yura and Yuro followed behind giving each other weird glances.

"Hey what do you mean stick with you?" I asked confused about what she meant by 'stick with her'.

"Well you're my grandson and I could probably count the number of times I've met you on one hand. That's not how a grandmother should treat her grandson now is it?"

"Well no I guess not, but that doesn't answer my question." I quipped back.

" I'm going to make it up to you by taking you in. I'm gonna be your grandma from now on basically. " She said looking down at me with a smile.

For some reason even though I rejected the idea of ever replacing my grandmother, this lady that called herself my grandma gave me the feeling that she wasn't going to be a simple replacement.

'This lady she... She doesn't give me the same feeling as my grandmother but the warmth when she pat my head earlier it was similar to her's.'

" I'll train you to become really strong if you do plus I can teach you more about your parents. So what do you say?" She continued clearly a bit excited.

"I don't know I'll have to ask them first." I said looking at Jin and his parents, as they stared back, their faces becoming bigger and more clearer the closer we got to our seats.

We soon reached back to our seats and sat down and by this point I had already made up my mind. Even though it had only been around ten seconds or so I was sure about what I needed to do.

"Ryouto you doing okay?" Jin asked as I sat back down.

"Yeah I'm okay." I replied.

"Okay good, so who's that lady next to you?" Jin asked looking at my grandma who sat on my right while Jin was on my left.

"Oh she? She's my grandma, from my father side I think." I said off handedly, mind still stuck on how I would tell him.

"Oh that's shocking." Jin said amazed.

"Hmm why is that?" I asked wondering what he was thinking as he snapped me out of my thoughts.

"She looks pretty young compared to most people grandmother's that's all.."

Soon the funeral had finished and the coffin was buried in the ground. Most people left including the white haired people. Only Jin, his parents, Yamiko, Yura and Yuro and a few other people remained.

As we watched the tombstone being placed came the topic I was dreading to bring up.

"So Ryouto what's your plan now? You've met your grandma, and have somewhere to go. Of course if you want to stay with us it's fine." Earl asked me looking at me and Jin standing side by side.

Taking a deep breath and closing my eyes and opening them back, I responded. "I've decided I want to go live with ms.Yamiko but I will come visit every once in a while and plus Jin you can always message me." I said pulling out a red phone that I had created a week ago with Jin.

"Oh well if that's your decision we'll respect it. Just remember you're always welcomed back if you want to come." Elana said looking at me with soft caring eyes that conveyed everything she wanted to say before she did.

"Thanks auntie I'll never forget that." I said smiling looking at her and then I turned to Jin.

I gave him a deep look before saying "Hey man remember that highschool you mentioned was your dream to go to?"

"Yeah of course I do." He said with a sad smile looking at me with a look that said he was unwilling to part ways here.

"Let's do it. Let's make it there together alright." I said a wide grin blooming on my face as my determination to get stronger rose to new heights.

3rd POV

Jin's eyes widened as he looked at Ryouto a big smile rising on his face without him knowing.

"Bet, let's do it. We're gonna make it to Sky High!" Jin said looking at the other boy as he rose his fist to give the other boy a fist bump.

"Yeah, I can't wait." Ryouto said as he lifted his hand and fist bumped Jin. Both boys smiles growing even wider than before.
